Is there a big name coach out there to go for a one year deal? Gruden and Payton are friends. Cowher is still out there. Or should we give the reigns over to Carmichael?

If Saban was man enough he'd pull double duty.

Nonsense....Payton is going to be relaying the plays from his living room couch over a cell phone to a ear piece Carmichael will be wearing on the sidelines....gonna win the damn super bowl in spite of this crap. We'll see if all the whiny fan bitches around the league can say the NFL gave the Saints this super bowl too...book it!

I think Carmichael is going to run the offense and Spags will be interim head coach since he has some experience with that.

Dinardo just drove in from Baton Rouge and is staying at the Days Inn on David Drive. Interesting.

I don't think it will be a one year deal. After this, if Benson has any cajones he will clean house and fire all coaches involved in this fiasco.

If Sean Payton were to retire, I think we would have hired Carmichael anyway.

Gruden and cowher wouldn't take it for one year, with schemes and assistants in place. What the Saints can offer is an opportunity to come in and keep order for one season. The staff isn't going to change. The schemes aren't going to change. Carmichael needs to focus on running the offense, not the offense and learning how to be a head coach. Spags failed as a head coach, plus he needs to focus on implementing his D and the linebackers, since Vitt is out for the offseason and first six games. Given this, if I'm Tom Benson, these are my calls for the one year gig:

1. Jim Mora
2. The Tuna
3. Marty Schottemheimer
4. Dan Reeves

All of these guys have the ability, aren't interested in a multi-year thing, but would likely salivate at the opportunity of a one season shot with a legit contender.

Promote Spagnuolo to HC, Flajole to DC.
