Don't know how long it has been closed, and search in this board did not show anything recent.

Drove by today and sign says, This location has closed permanently. How things have changed since it reopened to long lines.

the Gambit website linked on an older post about Pancho's closing has a comment about how they are reopening in Metairie with the old style pancho's, not a buffet.

They've closed a few in Texas recently. Further proof of the wussification of 'merica IMO. Everyone wants their restaurants to be "clean" and "trendy" with post-modern decor, etc..

Anyone who doesn't like Pancho's doesn't know how to order. There are things to avoid and things to load up on. Yes, this is also true of their locations but I had the benefit of growing up near a very clean and well run store.

On the other hand, we were in another store once and the guacamole "exploded". The theory was a gas bubble developed somehow. This was way back when they kept it in bigger vats. Everyone in the buffet line looked like a baby shat on them. True f'ing story.

Good god! Just go to taco bell.

You might do better off on the O-T.

I enjoyed eating at the Pancho's in BR when I was a kid. The meal I had at the Pancho's Buffet in Metairie was probably one of the worst meals I have ever eaten.

With the more legit mexican food in and around the Metarie/Kenner area, why would I go to Panchos of all places to begin with? Hell, the name escapes me at the moment, but there's a freaking blue gas station right off the interstate in kenna brah that's run by mexicans and far and away better than anything you can get at Panchos.

Loyola One Stop..

They have a taquiera Sanchez inside and its pretty good.

But we have better options in Kenner, but for gas station fare, it isn't bad at all.

I enjoyed the Chinese buffet that was there before it in Metairie. Was sad to see that thing go.
