the pmac has been a library (with all due respect to libraries) for years now but i just can't see anyone getting hyped for next season other than the 11 maravich maniacs. i wasn't even very excited coming into this season and if nothing changes i'll be even more ambivalent heading into next season.

If Shane Hammink commits, you may see an influx of people who watched his dad play.

We need to add Hammink, Coleman and Pelle to this class.

I think it will be more optimistic than the beginning of the last two years

It will be weak, but not at all-time low levels. However, we're splitting hairs literally over a couple hundred not thousands.

False.

It will be marginally better than last year early on due to higher expectations. ..and will increase over the year should a tournament spot become a realistic possibility.

If we get Coleman and Pelle then I think there will be hype leading up to the season, creating some fan support. If we start winning a few then the fans will show back up.

The previous two years were absolutely miserable basketball, and this year was only slightly better. A good product will bring the fans.

If we start out flat I think it will get ugly for Trent. A lot of fans have given up on him and a lot more are riding the fence.

In the past 2 seasons we went 22-40 and won 5 SEC games total.

This season we had a winning record and made the NIT.

Shouldn't be possible to have lower fan support than what we started this season with considering the results of the past two years opposed to this years results.

How can Trent recruit well, knowing that next season is most probably do or die? I'm pretty sure that any recruit that Trent is after is well aware that the fan base is not happy with Trent.

Does Alleva give Trent more than a 1 year contract extension as a vote of confidence?

True-Most LSU fans I know had lost all interest in the team this year. Next year will be worse.

The only way the fanbase shows excitement is if a coaching change is made

Yes, I am captain obvious. I don't care if you are playing horseshoes, if you are not a winner people will not support you, plain and simple. If LSU wins, I think the support will be there. Perhaps in TJ's first year there was not, because people were so burned up from Brady, but if you win, the support will be here. The issue I have is TJ cannot recruit LA players to come here. At least Brady did that. If you can't get the talent, you don't stand a chance.

The fans that go to games are the die-hards. The fair-weather fans skipped out years ago. It won't improve, but it won't get worse.

If the team has a good year, it will improve quickly.

Hard to predict, given the limited numbers and fickleness of the LSU basketball fanbase. By any reasonable measure, this year's team was substantially improved, and showed every promise of continued improvement over the next couple of years. Yet fan support was pitiful. The team's effort in New Orleans was certainly much greater than the boycotting fanbase deserved.

No reasonable person can expect our program to be competitive when recruits compare the Dead Dome to venues with actual basketball fans. But I guess that's why they're called Rantards.
