Surprisingly they are 9-0 in night games & only 4-3 during day games.

LSU is 12-0 when they out hit their opponent, and are 1-3 when the opponent outhits LSU.

LSU is 7-3 when they do not hit a Home Run, and 6-0 when they hit at least 1 Home Run.

Although many here are concerned about their batting, I see signs of an upward trend in the LSU offense.

Of the 16 games played to date, I divided the stats into 2 groups as follows.... 9 games in Feb ending with McNeese St, and 7 games in March thru Sundays loss to ND. LSU batted .296 as a team in Feb, against the likes of Air Force, Alcorn, McNeese, Grambling & Appy St. LSU is batting .321 in March, vs Dartmouth, Tulane Micigan & Notre Dame. So LSU has raised its team batting average by 25 points against better competition.

Lastly, LSU's pitching ERA has gotten much worse in March. During FEB, LSUs team ERA was 1.84. In March, to date, the ERA is 3.44

I'm not sure what any of this means, but these were some of the stats that caught my attention. Can't wait for SEC play to begin this weekend!

You dont think that Michigan, Notre Dame, Dartmouth & Tulane are better than Alcorn, Grambling & McNeese?

Isn't Texas State ranked and also beat Rice in a midweek game?

Notre Dame was swept by Texas State

Texas St has won all of their series so far this year and also beat Rice and TCU mid week. Notre Dame getting swept by them is not an indictment of Notre Dame.

I think App State is by far the best team LSU has played

Against App State LSU hit

.172 for the three game series.

Before you start praising an offense wait and see them vs solid competition (aka SEC play).

Michigan and Notre Dame are not solid competition. Tulane was a mid week game which are extremely flukey

They are ranked in Baseball America (20), Collegiate Baseball (30), and Perfect Game (24).

anyone putting stock into a series win of a team ranked 237th in RPI(Michigan) and a sweep of a team who's record is STILL 0-3

App st is by far LSU's best competition to date and has the upper hand through the first 16 games. SEC play begins this weekend. It's either going to show how good this team is or lack thereof. The pitching this year in the SEC is freaking stupid good.

Team ERA's of note for some SEC schools:
South Carolina: 1.56
Ole Miss: 2.28
Arkansas: 2.33
Georgia: 2.38
Miss St: 2.41
**All within the top 16 in the country**

LSU does have a .316 batting average but hasn't proved that it can get timely hits throughout the entire lineup. Katz and Rhymes are a huge asset to this club

Probably because McCunn isn't pitching well and has pitched most day games on Sunday.
