And all she wanted to do was get her a new rod and reel. The only problem is, she has no clue what a good reel is! The ones she likes cost about $25 on a good day! She likes them because they are "Pretty." I keep telling her that I will get her a good rod and reel, and she won't let me because I will pick something that is ugly!

My question to you, should I let her get her crappy (not the fish) rod and reel, or should I go ahead and get her something that she will like; just not like to look at?

Like with most things with woman, you have to let them do it their way the first time, then after it turns to crap and falls apart you give a suttle " I tried to tell you baby"...and then you go buy another combo.

Its a pretty simple process really...

I would buy her a good one and spray paint it pink.

Let her get what she wants but buy her a good combo also. Don't tell her it is for her, but bring it fishing and let her use both, see the difference, then give it to her...

Let her get the cheap one.

She should be there for 1 reason and it's not to fish.

Start buying here good stuff and before long she kicking your arse and telling all your friends how bad a fisherman you are.

Bring her to a Bikini store and let her go wild.
Unless she weighs like 300 pounds then just ask an Alabama fan for advice.

Get the crappy one until she's sure she wants to fish. Besides, when it breaks, she'll realize there's a reason you spend what you do on your gear. I went the same route with MrsDev, and she'd shoot you if you tried to give her something pretty now.

Get the cheap one. They don't notice the difference.

Seriously though, mine wouldn't know the difference holding a $30 combo and a $200 combo. If she's content with the cheap one save yourself some money.

Let her get the crappy one, and get the good one but don't let her know about it. When the bad one craps out while y'all are on the boat, just calmly pull the good one out, give it to her and keep on fishing. It might cost a little more $, but it is worth it.

Every girl I've ever brought was the same way. They usually only make a couple of casts anyway before they just go to sun tannin

I guess my wife is different. She raved about the differences in feeling when I picked up her new gear. It doesn't hurt that she loves to fish, too. She fishes just as hard as I do.

Tell her girls wear bikinis fishing. It's an unspoken rule.
