How does this affect recruiting?

Huge loss.

Mike Scarborough @ScarboroughMike
#LSU head football coach Les Miles needs to find a DB coach as Ron Cooper has accepted a position with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Horrible two month span for football. God.

I sure hope LSU knew this was coming so we have some stud ready...

If not, this could be bad...because spring is right around the corner...

Good thing we are set in the secondary recruiting-wise. Outside of Jefferson, I can't think of any others.

How does this affect recruiting? Who did he bring in that we couldn't without him?

OMG our secondary coach is leaving, everyone jump ship now. Yeah, he was a good coach but it's not like we won't replace him with someone else. Go nab someone with some Florida ties and we are good

It could hurt us if we had no clue he was about to leave. Because that means Les wasn't actively looking for anybody and spring is right around the corner...

Could force a fast hire that isn't all that attractive...

It seems like everything has been downhill since LC announced on national TV that he was Bama bound. There has not been one ounce of good news about LSU football since.

He really didn't bring in a lot of "highly rated" prospects. Jalen Collins and David Jenkins are supposed to be bigtime players, so if that's true, talent evaluation will be what we may miss.

Liggins?
Alexander?
Frank Wilson staying?

Not a single ounce? Come on...

He was a great talent evaluator and a great developer of talent. I don't know about recruiting.

Hopefully it was more chavis and cooper.

Hopefully Mike jumped the gun again and looks like the idiot he is. That would be nice.

So one LA recruit that has already decommitted and then re-committed. It's been known he is the guy recruiting the hardest for us.

Like he said, he isn't leaving. You don't commit to a position coach, you commit to a school. All it will take is a call from Miles or Wilson and he will be all better

The only way this will hurt recruiting is reputation. A lot of Dbs want to hear from LSU because of Ron's track record. That will be gone.

The way it leaked out, it makes it seem like the staff has known for awhile. No reason Cooper would just up and leave without a 2 weeks notice
