OU and UT's schedule is much more reasonable now with TCU and WVU

I love this turn of events. Now, all of a sudden, OU has to go to TCU and WVU for the 2012 schedule.
The days of OU getting a relatively easy schedule are gone. Same for UT.
In most years, they had to play each other and typically 1 other "strong" team where they might not be out-right favored, and now that could be a changing.
I think this makes things just that much more fair at the national level.

Meanwhile, TCU's final stretch is, um, not pleasant. Welcome to a BCS Conference:

How many mattresses/couches will burn if WVU knocks off OU at home?
Edited: because I don't proofread.

the equation is [game attendance}/10 = couches burned

So you're basically saying that adding TCU & WVU and subtracting A&M & MU has made the conference stronger. I agree. Both TCU & WVU will begin the year as a ranked team. A&M & MU? Meh.

WVU does have a 2 game win streak vs OU and on the road for both.

Wow. That screams 1-4. We'll find out how good TCU really is. That WVU road trip is gonna be murder on Big 12 teams.
How long will TCU-Texas on Thanksgiving last?

When has OU ever had an easy schedule

most years. They usually play 1 legit top-10 team each year. Then, a bunch of 15-25 ranked teams to create the illusion of a difficult schedule. Phil Steele himself often picks OU to win the NC or near there because the OU schedule is easiest to navigate. OU's "gauntlet" compared to most SEC school's schedule is a joke.

That is your SEC bias talking

So when we blow out both WVU & TCU by double digits will you still say that? Don't forget we play Notre Dame in 2012, too. Should be an interesting season for Sooner fans.

I still do not give LSU much credit for destroying that continueing over-rated team in the 2006 sugar bowl. A joke of a team.

what exactly is false about his statement...I'm no SEC pom pom shaker but the schedules aren't even remotely comparable in most years.

You're right. They're like the Dallas Cowboys of College Football.
