Well the responses to this one are scattered across the board.
I guess maybe b/c there are so many different variations of bread pudding and everyone may prefer theirs differently.
I prefer my bread pudding to be firm so you have to sort of cut it. I don't like the mushy or soupy variety. I also prefer mine pretty sweet as opposed to just mildly sweet which many places serve. Not a big fan of the overly alcoholic rum or whiskey sauces. I'd rather a nice sweet praline or citrus glaze.
You maybe able to narrow down the recommendations if you specify which kind of bread pudding would be preferred.
I see they covered a lot of the fine dining places so I'll give you a couple that I like from 2 more casual places. The Chimes(praline topping) and Capital City Grill(citrus glaze).
Good luck.

Ralph's Market on Jones Creek. They sell it by the pound. Good stuff.

I liked Capital City Grill's and Louisiana Lagniappe's. Louisiana Lagniappe's had blueberries in it and was very good. Capital city Grill's had an orange flavored bread pudding if I remember correctly.

I had some at Parker House in Ridgeland the other day and it was unbelievable. It one the bread pudding showdown in Jackson if that counts for anything
That is some good stuff. I went to the Bread Pudding Throwdown and had a great time. Babalu's was great as well. Hell, most of them were pretty damn good!

Damn... sounds like I'm gonna have to hit up some of these places and get orders to go, and then go home and have a blind taste test.

The white chocolate bread pudding is awesome at Ruffino's.
I know you said New Orleans, but if you venture a little farther... Bayou Country store in Slidell has an awesome deli with several different types of Bread pudding that are the best I've ever tasted. Best Pralines also...

Little Village has one of the best bread puddings that I have ever had. I believe it is the same chef from Country Club of La, like some said before.

Country club of Louisiana has the best bread pudding in baton rouge. Only problem is, it's not like you can just walk in there.
