Inception or Shutter Island?

both are from 2010, both are fairly similar with all the dream/reality stuff, and both star DiCaprio. which film do you think is better and why?
personally I enjoyed both, but I'll give Shutter Island the nod. I think it was one of the most underrated films of 2010 (awards wise) and the acting was superb. especially this scene with Michelle Williams and Leo. I thought for sure both of them would get Oscar nominations -

Inception but its pretty much the same film.
DiCaprio's best work is Gangs of New York ... But that's probably because Daniel Day Lewis is so awesome.

Inception and it's close. It's always a good thing when Leo and Scorsese team up.

I prefer Inception because it was an interesting new concept and had one of my favorites in JGL
Shutter Island was great as well though

I was a HUGE fan of Inception when it first came out. I saw it three times in theaters. Although I was interested in Shutter Island, I dismissed it because the marketing made it out to be a horror movie. I finally watched Shutter Island on when it first appeared on netflix and was very pleasantly surprised.
Looking back on the two, I feel as though Shutter Island is just a bit more fleshed out and goes deeper into the storyline. Leo gives two outstanding performances and really makes these movies work by having the audience care about his character, also great performances by supporting casts. If I had to chose out of the two, I would go with Shutter Island.

Shutter Island
I think Leo delivered a better performance and I preferred the dark anxious mood of Shutter Island. Scorsese did a great job with it

Inception...
Shutter Island is a polished turd.

I enjoyed both very much. I saw Inception in the theater and the visuals were amazing. I really liked Shutter Island, but I would go with Inception by a little.

Both films made my Top 10 list in 2010. Inception was my #1 but I really loved Shutter Island.

Inception, and it's not close. Not because Shutter Island isn't good, but because I believe Inception is one of the best Hollywood blockbusters ever made.

both are awesome. I love the Inception soundtrack.

Dude...see more movies. Shutter Island has DiCaprio, Kingsley, Max von Sydow, Michelle Williams, Jackie Earle Hayley, Mark Ruffalo all being directed by Scorcese based on a Dennis Lehane book...the day they started filming it was better than most of what Hollywood is going to put out.
Oh, and I would choose Inception for this thread. I agree with Baloo that it's one of the best Hollywood blockbusters ever. It's what movies should strive to be...IMO.
