Crawfish are not cheap right now, unless you call $120.00 sacks cheap.

When I can get 2 for that price I'll think about it

Every place in (around) BR is around $4lb right now. We boiled 2 sacks thursday and one yesterday. Very pleased with the sacks. Pretty sure we had spillway bugs yesterday

yea no way am I boiling crawfish right now, way to expensive. When I want them bad enough at this time of year I'll just go to Sammys and let them do all the work

Tony's was $3.50 lb live yesterday. So I ate some at Sammy's. They were good.

How many do we need? I can put the traps out at home and catch some

I had some at Sammy's weekend before last. They were good.
I probably won't boil any until I can start catching them in nets

I'd rather boil crawfish than take a bitch out to some expensive dinner
Eta: and I boil so many bugs later in the year that the prices average out over the season

Not sure about live but Slidell Seafood(either location) had boiled for $3.80/lb over the weekend.
That's not bad at all after hearing some people say they were paying $5/lb boiled earlier in the week.

I suspect the price to rise a little for super bowl Sunday.. They usually do anyway

Most likely.

More than likely they will.
Only thing I hate about Slidell Seafood is that they're only open Wed-Sat (and Sun mornings during crawfish season)

Yeh I was having trouble finding a place that wasnt completely out of my way and open on Sunday this early in the year..

Just get em where you can. It'll even out with the driving and time you spend searching.

If I remember correctly my buddy told me around 2.80ish, but this was at the camp Saturday night and I was pretty inebriated. I could be making that number up.

What are the distributors selling them for this week? We bought from a friend of a friend Thursday at $3lb. Just curious what the typical markup was from the distributor to the seafood shops... Everybody has to make their money yano
