Must have Pat Swilling & Vaughn Johnson in there at LB also. The whole Dome Patrol was money.

I'd throw Wesley Walls up there for honorable TE mention

FS- Darren Sharper

He might have only really played 1 year on the team, but he was one of the main catalysts in getting the Saints to the Superbowl.

LINK Sticking to what I said last year. Only change I may make is considering Jimmy Graham for TE and Carl Nicks for a guard spot.

quote:

QB - Brees
RB - Deuce
RB - Hilliard
FB - Ironhead Heyward
OT - Willie Roaf
OL - Jim Dombowski
C - Joel Hilgenberg
OL - Jahri Evans
OT - Stan Brock
TE - Hoby Brenner (HM J. Shockey)
WR - Joe Horn
WR - Eric Martin
WR - Marcus Colston

DE - Joe Johnson
DT - Wayne Martin
DE - LaRoi Glover
LB - Pat Swilling
LB - Ricky Jackson
LB - Sam Mills
LB - Vaughn Johnson
CB - Jabari Greer/Dave Waymer
CB - Tracy Porter/Mike McKenzie
S - Sammy Knight
S - Darren Sharper

K - Morten Anderson
P - Tommy Barnhardt
PR - Tyrone Hughes
KR - Michael Lewis
ST - Fred McAfee

Maybe Frank Warren at DT and Jumpy Geathers or Darren Howard at DE. Gene Atkins at FS. Honestly, Jabari Greer may have to be one of the corners.

Colston is ahead of Eric Martin, IMO

what sucks is comparing the different quarterbacking eras and thus stats of WR's for kind of different time periods. If Colston remains a Saint, it be a much easier decision.

I'd have to nominate Jim Dombrowski for the other OT spot. He might have played guard but played some tackle also and was a rock on the OLine for the late 80s and early 90s

Also Frank Warren for one of the DE spots. He was a beast in the late 80s

eta: Nevermind I think Wayne Martin is better...almost forgot about him

There should be a category for short yardage back. I'm compiling a list of potential candidates.

Two of my favorite WR's of all time were Floyd Turner and Quinn Early, but if I were to actually investigate it, they might have had only a few decent years.

Kind of like re-visiting old TV shows. Just best not to do it.
