I've been reading Scooter for a long time and I don't think he bashes, he says it like it is whether the team played well or not. he is sarcastic and very entertaining.

Dunson, I got it the first time. I understand satire and he is making fun of us fans, especially the Lee homers. I'm not saying that Lee would have led us to victory. I'm still puzzled by the coaching decision (or lack of) to not try a change of pace, just to try something else. No matter who was the backup, it would have been worth the try to put him in. Not one of Scooter's better works. I've read him for years and he usually is pretty good. This was a lame attempt at satire imho. No matter what, Geaux Tigers!

Not at all.

I'm over it. . .It just amuses me that you and a few others are not. You amused me during the past couple seasons, but now you are just a guilty pleasure.

You are in a steady tailspin of a meltdown. Akin to watching a train wreck in super slo-mo.

I appreciate it, and you. Keep it going. . .

No, sir, I was pointing out that the writer was mocking the collective wisdom of armchair QBs who have knighted - to borrow a phrase -- JLee as the savior of the BCNCG.

We would have been happy with ...anyone, just try something different. I don't think anyone has illusions that Lee would have definitely helped, but we will never know. Lee, Mett, someone besides the guy who played all game.

I appreciate what Lee did this year, but if you cannot recognize his fundamental limitations, then I can's help you.

Both Lee and JJ had limitations and that is the reason I thought both were part time players. Les disagreed, which rightfully brought the anger on him he deserved.

The only time I thought Lee was done wrong was in his last home game when LSU was leading Arkansas by a large margin and he still didn't make an appearance except to kneel the ball out. I would have felt the same about either QB's.

People are more pissed that Les didn't try something new when JJ was failing miserably and playing poorly for the second straight game in a row, whether it was Lee or Mett, though some feel Lee earned a shot.

It took you until 2:30 in the morning, and this is the best you could come up with?

Robb is all up in your shite, as evidenced by you trying to make some point in your sig line. He's owned you from Day 1 on where we were headed with JJ, and yet you say he's a the train wreck

Dude, you supported the worst starting QB in LSU history. And tried to compare him to Flynn. Are you kidding me?

i live in welsh, i get the american press everyday and i can say, without a doubt, scooter hobbs is a piece of s***.

i've burnt his sports section out in the yard many of saturdays when he picked against lsu in a big game. with les and before with nick.

and i remember his articles, absolutely rippin j lee when he was a freshman and kid. all the way down to rippin apart the kid's character.

anyone who's read scooter hobbs knows he, sadly enough, is nothing more than a knockoff glenn guilbeau.

and i didn't even read it. i refuse to read anything with his name on it anymore.

I personally know Scooter and he's not a POS. Scooter graduated from LSU and I know he loves LSU. He has to maintain a non-biased approach to everything LSU.

Lots of sports writers pick against LSU in a big game. Controversy sells newspapers and gets TV ratings. I guess you claim that the "American Press AND ESPN and CBS hate LSU."

JL getting ripped when he was a freshman... wasn't that the pick 6 year???? Didn't he deserve some criticism? Got any links to Scooter ripping his character to shreds?

Scooter has been writing longer than Guilbeau so maybe you have it backwards on who the knockoff is. Maybe Guilbeau is trying to imitate Scooter Hobbs.

Scooter has been sports editor for a long time at the American Press so obviously he's doing something right at his job.

Some of you people obviously don't understand satire. I was mildly amused by the article and I will be at the Zeus parade in LSU colors cheering for Lee and T-Bob and any other LSU player who might be in the parade.

I would do this if it were JJ riding in the parade or Mett or Rivers or Randall or Foster or whoever, i.e. ANY LSU player.

Ripping Scooter to shreds without even reading this article???? Lighten up Francis.

Even though I'm still not laughing at what happened on Jan 9, I was able to laugh when I read this article. I thank Hobbs for that!

From the 3rd reader comment at the end of the article:

quote:

Scooter... Do some real investigative Sports Reporting and find out which LSU players and coaches are sporting new vehicles after their play (or lack thereof) in the Dome.

What the hell does THAT mean?!?!?!

Scooter Hobbs may be the best sportwriter on the LSU beat. His columns are thoughtful and sometimes hilarious. The one drawback to his writing is it may be a bit too hip for the room. Particularily if the room is full on nearly illiterate butthurt Rantards.

Same here, and there is nothing wrong with Scooter at all, I doubt too many on here actually know him irl, it's pure speculation on their part when they call him names. He is typically spot on with his column, and some that don't get it, are like you say 'a little uptight"
