It's at least good news that Demps is given some authority. I doubted from the get go that Stern would prevent an offer seeing how he is responsible for Gordon being here. Let's see how close the two sides are.

The New Orleans Hornets have offered shooting guard Eric Gordon a four-year extension offer, according to an internet report. Hornets officials could not confirm Wednesday morning if the offer has been made yet.
With the league owning the Hornets, NBA Commissioner David Stern has final say to determine if Gordon will be offered. The Hornets have until today to offer Gordon an extension, and if they don't he will become a restricted free agent this summer.
Hornets General Manager Dell Demps could not be reached for comment.
Gordon, who has played in only two games with the Hornets because of a bruised right knee, is seeking an extension similar to that of Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook, who agreed to a five-year, $80 million deal last week.
The Hornets obtained Gordon last month in a trade from the Los Angeles Clippers that included Chris Kaman and Al-Farouq Aminu and Minnesota's 2012 first-round pick in exchange for All-Star point guard Chris Paul,

But, the big question is will he play again?

nowhere near Russel Westbrook's level, and has been injury prone every year he's been in the leagu, his numbers are slighly better than thornton's who just singed his 4 year deal around 33 million, i believe he's somewhere in the 35-40 million dollar range, personally i think more towards 35
Posted on 1/25/12 at 3:07 pm to lsutigers23
he is offered around 4 years 50 mil

I really like our back court with him and Jack. If we can get a couple solid players at the 3/4 spot, we could be a pretty good team.
