What's good here? Going for a group meal.

I always end up playing it safe at Mexican restaurants and ordering something like quesadillas.

That's definitely on my list.

La carreta isn't my choice.

Yeah it's pretty much standard Mexican cuisine.

I haven't been in years. The two or three times that I went, I asked for medium rare beef fajitas.

Every time I received my order, they were well done.

Scratched them off my list and never looked back.

If your avatar is a picture of you, you should just get a salad.

Go with the shredded chicken quesadillas, shredded chicken tacos, fish tacos, and/or tortilla soup (make sure to ask for chicken in it- it's included in the price but they only add it if you ask)

Avoid: rice (nothing special), tamales (not very good)

Its probably because they were already cooked well in advance and they just heat them up when ready to serve. I can't say for sure about La Carretta, but the Mexican place I worked at a long arse time ago would cook all the fajita beef and chicken at the begininng of the shift, then just heat it up and throw it on those hot arse skillets when a order came in.

Burrito Wrap. Make sure to ask for shredded chicken.

You're welcome.

I eat there way too much. I usually go with the La Mexicana, a side of tortilla soup, and a medium margarita on the rocks.

I like the carne asada meal. Warning. I can get 3 meals out of it. I usually split it with my mom and we still have leftovers.

Hammond location is better at just about everything. Big portions and more flavorful
