Is the NBA trying to turn the Hornets into the International Team?

Looking over the roster, there may be less than I surmised from watching the game last night. But New Orleans appears to have quite a few key players that hail from abroad.
Kaman - American I know, but on the German national Team
Ayon - Mexico
Bellinelli - Italy
Vasquez - Venezuela
I don't know it's really not that many, but running around the arena with an Italian flag after Belinelli scores, just screams, "we're trying our best to market this specific brand to the rest of the World."
Crazt theory anyway.

Not really, he is the 3-point specialist (supposedly) ... after talking to a few of those people who work Hornets games. Pep squad peeps. They said without the Peja heads, they needed something to do.

The Nuggets have:
Nene - Brazil
Mozgov - Russia
Gallinari - Italy
Fernandez - Spain
The TWolves have
Barea - Puerto Rico
Rubio - Spain
Milicic - Yugoslavia
Pekovic - I don't know where he's from but I'm willing to bet he's not from the States.
The Raptors have
Kleiza - Russia
Bargnani - Italy
Barbosa - Brazil
Calderon - Spain
Solomon Alabi - Nigeria.
I really don't understand the point of your post ? Many NBA teams have players from different countries.

I think more than anything it has to do with the Italian flag thing, and what sounded like the Spanish Ole chant being piped in through your PA system last night.
A lot of teams have international players, those two instances last night just happened to catch my attention.
Like I said probably just a crazy theory.

It's not the NBA, it's Demps. This is the San Antonio Model. You find better players by doing more scouting work than other teams which typically means going international.

Xavier Henry was born in Belgium.

they just do that to replace the giant peja head every time he'd hit a three

I think you're reaching. No one sees Kaman as foreign, Vasquez is best known for going to college at Maryland, and that leaves two foreign players.

i feel like in some way you are implying that Belli is only on the team so that we can run italian flags around the arena when he hits a 3.

In a way I guess I am.

Haha, that was the Zanies doing "AYON AYON AYON" in the Ole chant style.
I'm not surprised by the influx of international players, look who our GM is and where he came from (Spurs)

Yea, but he definitely does bring in international attention. I'm fairly certain I've seen Marco in a Nike commercial where the only other professional athletes shown were Kobe Bryant and some swimmer. So clearly he's held in pretty high regard... (not sure why)
But hey, I don't mind. I remember reading the Charlotte Hornets brand was one of the most popular overseas out of any other NBA team. I wouldn't mind NOLA getting that same distinction whatsoever.

I was in favor of the large Kaman-head.
