Surprised the Pacers aren't even mentioned. I'm fairly certain they don't even have to give up any salary to get him

I agree. I want to get a good pick... but I love that a lot of the wins have been out-of-nowhere-awesome.

Dominating the Celtics w/o Gordon, beating the Magic by 26 after a 9 game losing streak, ending Linsanity in NY, beating the defending champs with just 9 players...

Love the underdog wins. But they can't be as frequent as they have been as of late.

TANK! :nana:

I heard Monty Williams say that the Hornets had the toughest schedule to open the season.

I'm fairly certain that's true. I remember reading somewhere the Hornets had the 1st or 2nd toughest strength of schedule. Great timing, eh?

that's from the twitter account NOHTankWatch... run by yours truly :P
If the Cavs got the #1 pick with the Clippers pick, that had a 2.8% chance of being #1...

Hell yes, he rigs it for the Hornets.

On the bright side we might not be in a long rebuilding process.

My thoughts exactly. Monty has these guys playing minute-for-minute with some of the best teams in the league, using a large lack of talent. If we draft properly, I could easily see the Hornets making noise in the playoffs come 2013-14... with us just missing next year.

For a rebuilding project, making the playoffs by the 3rd season is pretty significant.
Just wait until Beasley gets back. Notice they didn't turn things around until he got injured. BEASLEY FOR NOH MVP

Great article. I really hope he sticks around.

The only thing that worries me is, if Chouest does become majority owner... Monty wasn't his choice. Chouest and Shinn were in the process of finding coaches together, when suddenly Shinn just decided to leave Chouest out of it, and that's when Monty was chosen.

So I just hope Chouest doesn't immediately try to wipe the slate clean (if he even buys the team), Dell/Monty is a really solid foundation.

He has managed to go from spark off the bench, to starter, to BLACK HOLE. Made me wanna pull my hair out every time he fumbled the ball
He's starting opposite Scola tonight... /death
How he was playing last season up to his injury was the first time I really felt he was earning his contract. Other than that, there's flashes, but yea, WAY overpaid for the production he brings... but then again, what starting center (capable of averaging a double-double) isn't overpaid in this league (besides those on rookie contracts)?
Yea, but he definitely does bring in international attention. I'm fairly certain I've seen Marco in a Nike commercial where the only other professional athletes shown were Kobe Bryant and some swimmer. So clearly he's held in pretty high regard... (not sure why)

But hey, I don't mind. I remember reading the Charlotte Hornets brand was one of the most popular overseas out of any other NBA team. I wouldn't mind NOLA getting that same distinction whatsoever.
