Glad to see the word "commitment" equates to "how I feel presently" in today's world.

For real. What do expect the kid to say?

"My mom broke down in tears when I started packing my bags for Baton Rouge. I felt sorry for her and knew that I wouldn't able to live with myself if I left her that way. In reality, I am settling for Notre Dame because it is close to home and it is the best option that will keep my mom happy and allow me not to feel guilty."

Now, you know that there is no way that he was going to give the real story to the media. I feel bad that he was not able to get support from his family to play where he wanted to. Good luck, Gunner.

They spoke the day before and he indicated no problem and that he would be at the teams EE meeting.

When Kiel was packing for LSU this weekend, it hit him how far Baton Rouge was in comparison to South Bend, a three-hour drive
Sounds like the kid was heading toward BR up until the last minute.

Have a good time in the witness protection program. I guess when you enter the NFL you'll have to play for the Colts so you can be close to Mama.

This is fall out from the NC game.

You can't have a coaching performance as bad as that without consequences.

Of course, the only people who will disagree are LSU fans.

This is what I gather. Not uncommon for mothers to break down when reality fully sets in that their kid is moving that far away. Gunner made the decision that any kid with a heart would. Many of the people attacking his character for this are the same ones who attacked Landon for not considering the wishes of his parents', It sucks that LSU ended on the wrong side of both of these decisions, but the hypocrisy of some of members of this board is just rediculous.

some of us just disagreed with how lc DISRESPECTED his mom and lied to her up until his public announcement. very few parents MAKE their kid go where parents want and kiel could have pressed forward with LSU even if mom got emotional

Meh, LSU isn't first school to not show up for a big game... Hell Oklahoma, Ohio State, Florida State among other have failed to show up and it did not effect them. Sure it may have some influence but it isn't deciding factor for many kids.

The only way we play ND is if we schedule them. They are no where near our level and wont be for many years to come.
