I figured someone would have picked him up by now.

I wanted either him or Graham in Knoxville. With the way he can recruit and his history in the SEC I also figured he'd be on a staff by now.

Maybe his rep is true. Plus he'll land your school in NCAA trouble with the Lyles situation. I'm sure schools are looking at his chemistry with the staff and the fact he is a piece of shite for using Lyles to get on recruits...

Not sure anyone wants that baggage. If Miles brings him back here he is beyond stupid, sorry.

My worry is no movement is on him because Miles wants his unemployed buddy back. Porter as a RB coach and especially WR is a complete disaster...

He's a great recruiter, decent coach.
LSU national recruiting hasn't been the same since he left.

But I know first hand that he's a jerk. I went to school with his son. He completely ignored that his son existed.

he's a shitty coach and involvement with lyles scares teams away as a recruiter

You talking to me? I went to Parkview with him. Dude hated his dad.

My bad. I have a buddy at Baylor in Chattanooga who knew his son.

Ah I see.

Well I don't know how many sons he has, but we were in the same grade at Parkview. I thought he walked on at Alabama, but I'm not sure. I transferred to CHS and hadn't seen him in awhile.

Sounds like he is invested in his job.
That's a good thing.

I heard he turned down Knoxville because he heard Les may come calling. The staff expressed a tad more than mild aversion to bringing him back on board.

He & Wilson do not get along. I wouldn't want him anywhere near a position that we needed to develop properly.

Interesting. I like his recruiting abilities but nothing else.

We are family friends with the Porters. I haven't met his older son, so I can't comment on him. However, I do know his younger son and daughter and he has never seemed anything but loving with them. He would have his wife come drop them off at practice in the afternoons so he could be sure he got time with them. I watched him go to dance rehearsals with his daughter and dance in her recital with her. We also met up with them on vacation and he seemed extremely attentive with them then entire time, as well as with his nephew.

Well, the son that I know doesn't have the same last name as him, so maybe he favors the kids from the recent marriage. But this kid was Porter's son and had no love for the guy.

Porter being in charge of developing our WRs is a scary thought. I hope that isn't the route we take.
