Yeah...so he didn't have a great year as far as numbers go this year

But other than RR what receiver really lit it up? Beckham made some big plays but it's not like he was consistently getting 80 yards per game or anything.

I hope RS has a change of heart and decides to stay for his senior year. He is an explosive play maker and I think he could have a good year in next year's offense if Mett turns out to live up to the hype.

With RR gone he could become a big part of the offense and hopefully improve his stock for the NFL. I think he is making a big mistake leaving this year.

OBJ was on fire early in the season. Then JJ happened.

All comes back to QB play.

ODBj and Landry will be standout receivers with even a decent QB.

We'll be fine.

And we will have Avery Johnson. No worries at WR.

We didnt have much of a passing game period... randle was that much better so it wasnt hard to get him the ball since he could get so wide open.
Lee can read D's and throw it but he gets rattled easily. Jefferson has no QB IQ what-so-ever, so a passing offense just isnt his thing. No QB to throw consistently and we didnt need to until Alabama....

Let Mett come in and we'll see if that changes... I think it does (fingers crossed)

Why? Miles is one stubborn SOB and will refuse to change the offense to being more pass/receiver friendly.

There's definitely worries at Wide Receiver. We don't have the proven prototypical WR that can do all the things Randle could and that sucks. We finally have the QB to get them the ball and we don't have the fricking personnel to do it(at least as far as we know). James Wright is the guy to watch here.

I'm going to be honest, I don't think it's big. I don't think he's very good as a WR at all and if it is true that we "need" him at WR next year, then we SUCK BALLS at WR.

That said, I doubt we suck at WR. But really, it's just my opinion but RS does not look like an SEC talent WR to me.

Frankly, given his QB background, I wonder how he'd be as a DB? Sometimes former QBs use their knowledge of QBs to become damned good DBs. Given his athleticism(which I don't question), I think he may well have done well on the other side of the ball.

I'm not sure there are many people who think that losing Shep isn't big. But the fact is that we have other players, this stuff happens every year, especially to the top teams in any given season. It is why we recruit so heavily.

Having him would be great, but not having him does not break our 2012 season.

I too think Shep would benefit from a Mett-led passing game...

But Shep hasnt gotten around to truly knowing how to play WR. He doesnt have great hands and he doesnt know how to sell routes like RR did. IMO he should definetly stay, but I honestly dont know if his draft stock will change alot.

And Wright. However, Shep would get to start the season off right and be featured like I know he wants to be next year. What some players on this team lack is the patience to see down the road and put this year into perspective.

yep, leading the team to 8-0 record, leading the SEC in QB efficiency with 1 int in the first 8 games.

Yep, gets rattled EASILY.

You people need to stop with the flat out wrong comments.

I think people forget how much potential OBj really has to be a great one. Dude will light it up next year IMO. His numbers fell significantly due to, well, you know. We will be fine.

How is that wrong. I said he was good at reads and throwing, but when smthg goes wrong he seems rattled. Its been like that throughout his career.

Go cry elsewhere

Can OBJ? He dropped as many as Shep.

SHep was never meant to be a WR. Chalk this down to a Miles experiment gone wrong. SHep is a playmaker, he averages over 6 yards every time he runs the ball.

Want to know how many rushes he had this year? 7. I would get the hell out if I were him as well.
