I've heard all the "rumors" and read a lot of the talk about the Tiger's flat performance on Monday night. I've listened to Hebert's stupid arse rant on the national stage regarding Miles.

I personally believe that Bobby Hebert abused his media credentials and made a mistake by letting his emotions get involved. I think he did more to hurt LSU than Miles did on January 9th. He really sounds like an childish angry parent whose kid didn't play in the big game to me.

That being said, I can't help but think about how discouraging it must have been for our boys to come out and play a team they had already beaten once before. What an insult.

Every year since these boys were old enough to follow college football, they have been indoctrinated into the idea that EVERY game matters in college football and it's basically 1 big playoff. Unless you get lucky, it's one and done. You've lost control of your destiny. LSU went out on Nov 5th into hostile Tuscaloosa and BEAT the Tide in their house. They played arguably the most physical and mentally tough game of their lives. They went out there like heroes and left everything out on the field...what was their reward? A freaking rematch. They played an EXTRA game and had to beat the same team twice to close out the season.

I know if I was out there, I would have a hard time getting pumped knowing I had already done my job against this team, when it counted, on Nov. 5th.

I'm not saying that I disagree that Bama was one of the top two teams in the country, nor that the BCS failed to do what it was designed to do. I'm just saying that from a purely "spirit of the game" standpoint, the Tigers took care of business in Tuscaloosa and shouldn't have had to produce an encore. That's the way the cookie crumbles and it sucks. For everyone but the Crimson Tide.

If you look at the regular season and all the off the field adversity the Tigers had to face (suspensions, NCAA investigations, Kragthorpe's health, Shady's, QB controversy, etc.) the fact that they have to RE-BEAT Alabama could only have been an insult to injury. I don't know if I could pump myself up for that. I can just imagine the inner grumblings of these players and the animosity they must have felt. Yeah it was for all the marbles and a chance to go down in history, but you can't say that it didn't bother them to have to play Alabama again.

Were there some issues in the lockeroom before the game? I don't know and probably never will.

Do I believe that Miles and Co. could have done more to pull off a victory? Absolutely.

That being said, what's done is done. I still love my Tigers. Let the dust settle and lets get ready for MIAMI 2013!

Agreed. I honestly don't think our players wanted a rematch despite comments after the nov 5 game.

I agree, it was not fair to this team to play Bama twice and they knew it. Beginning immediately after the win the talk of the rematch started. Had the media not pushed it so much I do believe that we would have played Oklahoma State. I think the media played a lot into the coaches poll which is what cost OS the slot

Playing Bama again isn't the reason the team came out flat.

Oh, come on! Life ain't fair. Did we want to play them again? No. Was it unfair? No. It was what it was. Gotta be prepared to do what you gotta do regardless of whether you like it. Was it fair for us to have such a hard schedule this year miles ahead of the other wussy schedules out there? Give me a break.

I have to say I agree with you, especially the part I quoted above.

While I don't agree with you about Bobby I think playing a Bama twice to some players was not a popular thing.

Agreed. I think it would be hard to get up for the team you already beat, who relaxed at home while you won the SEC championship. The regular season is supposed to be an elimination moving toward the championship and that didn't happen. I know life isn't fair, but when stuff like this happens it affects people.

That said, I have lots of wonderful memories from this year and I will choose to focus on them while I wait for my beloved Tigers to take the field again on September 1!

I said this since the bowls were set. I couldn't get past the fact that bama didn't deserve to be in the game. I could stomach losing to anyone else much easier than this travesty. It's easy to see the team feeling slighted and mentally skewed..

I admit it. My morale was low knowing that our head coach was depending on his chosen one to lead us, knowing $abin would be ready for all 4 plays he was capable of running (I didn't say successfully running). It might be possible that a few players shared that concern, knowing they were saddled with carrying a mediocre Qb against a powerful defense. Yeah, it might have affected morale a little.

UGA did NOT beat us in 2003 ... we beat them ... twice ... once at home ... once in the SECCG.

I agree with all of this, especially the part about Bobby Hebert. What he has been saying about Miles lately doesn't help anything with our football program.

Welcome recruits, good luck to the guys in the draft and

it obviously didnt help genius.

When you go on the road and give it your all in the "Game of the century" eek out a victory only to find out 2 weeks later you get to try that again. Absolutely it affected our guys in a negative way...as it affected the gumps in a positive way.

Is that the only reason they were flat NO....but it sure didnt help

If this turns out to be true a huge hit for Les and some serious questions about the trust and respect the players still on the team will have for him going forward!

Then LSU should stop playing football because the system that is used clearly allows for rematches. They are aware of the system and the potential results of the system before the season starts. If the coaches and players are not up to dealing with a rematch, then they don't deserve to be champions. Let's stop wasting time and effort and money and simply say, we don't like the system and can't deal with it and stop playing.

They got beat by a very good team that was much better prepared by a MUCH better head coach.

Deal with it.
