We are planning to fry up some skrimps for the Saints game Saturday. We will have at least 3 heavy eaters and 3 average eaters. How many pounds of shrimp should we get?

10 pounds seems like a pretty good amount.

Are you peeling head on shrimp or getting tails(no head shell on) or peeled meat?

Peeled meat and we will also do hush puppies and french fries. As you can see, I'm going healthy!

1/2 lb of fried shrimp(meat) per person, with sides will do. You could add an extra pound to be safe. Now, boiled shrimp are a different story.

That's crawfish. You get that much shrimp and you will have a ton left over.

For raw peeled shrimp, meat only, to be fried and served with sides?

Too much. I always have some leftover when I figure 1/2 lb per person and I usually throw in an extra half or full pound for good measure.
