You know that she did the wild thing with the other couples in your absence? But, hey, it was probably worth not missing the game (as long as she didn't bring anything home).

THIS, unless she is the ONLY person who will be in her office at the time (if that's the case, then I think you've just found another way to pass 3 hours )

What you're trying to do is noble, but what ultimately will happen is:

a) LSU loses, she knows this already when you sit down to watch the game the next morning, you will sense her dissapointment and lack interest and know the outcome before the 1st Quarter ends.

b) LSU wins, she knows this already when you sit down to watch the game the next morning and her excitement or lack of anxiety will let you know the outcome before the 1st quarter ends, thus ruining your experience of watching the game without knowing what happens in the end.

I had to do this for the 2001 SECCG. We had a big software system go-live that Saturday night. I watched the first quarter on a crappy little rabbit ears tv, then turned it off to watch the rest on tape at home.

So, i get home around 1am and hit rewind on the VCR. go to fix me something to eat and then hit PLAY.

well, apparently the VCR did not rewind very far and I started it with 30 seconds left in the 4th and it shows the LSU sideline jumping around celebrating.

I was both extremely elated and pissed at the same time. A weird feeling.

It won't work!

Its a dumb fricking idea. She is the most selfish bitch alive to ask you to miss the biggest game in LSU history and sit home watching the food fricking network.

Don't/quit being a pussy, GROW A SET!

I seriously can't even fathom having a conversation remotely close to that idea with another human, wife, mother, kid, friend, etc

If were your friend/neighbor, I would tell you I am gonna blow my horn in your driveway if LSU wins....than I would go and lay on the horn to ruin it for you.

Good luck with that. I'd say you have less than a 1% chance of not finding out the outcome before Tuesday.

I sympathize with anyone who has to miss this game because of work or some extreme circumstance.(i.e. your wife)

I cannot sympathize with anyone who has the opportunity to watch the game and chooses not to for any reason.

You should watch the game, your wife will not begrudge you that priviledge.

You are a TCU fan. Shouldn't be that hard to watch it the next day

Sorry you guys aren't married to a woman who loves football as much as you do.

My wife loves LSU football as much as I do.
I work the night shifts. There's no way she'd be letting me go to work on the 9th.
It's bigger than our anniversary!

My wife's work scheduled her inventory for the night of Jan 9th. Bunch of idiots. I have decided to DVR the game, shut off all my communication devices, and watch the game with her on the morning of Jan 10 to score major bonus points. She has a hatred for Bama the likes of which I have never seen, so this should garner me major bonus points. Plus it will be nice to not have to sit through commercial breaks.

Kind of did something like that.

Lack of foresight, had me plan a trip out to the London and Paris, 8 months before the 2003 Championship game.

Was able to record the game in London, and not watch the game until the next day.

Much easier to avoid the score in London though than here.

No Way. I am a chick and I wouldn't miss this game for any man no matter how much I loved him or in your case... "to score major bonus points".

The luck of the draw sometimes sucks!!!!

My daughter was in The Nutcracker the night of the SEC Title game in 2003 vs Georgia. The BCS gurus had basically predicted an LSU win = BCS title trip.

No tv, no radio,no internet, just The Nutcracker. Finally got over and I knew what the heck was going on late in the 3rd.

You better get a threesome or some back door action as a result of this unprecedented and selfless show of love.

Is she aware of your "distraction plan"? If so, she may have a heightened "want" for you in the AM. Dunno, might be worth it...nah, I'd still watch it!
