I have a good feeling about this game. I think our front court is deep enough and talented enough to neutralize Scott. I think Turner shows out and leads us to a victory.

Great write up southofsouth. I'll probably be the only UVA fan there but ill be loud and proud.
Agree on your plan with stopping mike Scott. We need him to be successful along with the ability of our guards to effectively break down your defense and feed the ball. Harris, Zeglinski, and brogdon shoot fairly well from the three so watch out for them. If I have time tomorrow, ill post a more in-depth writeup. Good luck tomorrow but I predict a 65-55 win for the Hoos

good preview, south.
its definitely true that the hoos have played a weak schedule thusfar, but I'm not sure you're giving our defense enough credit. Regardless, LSU will definitely try to push the tempo to counter our packline d...easier said than done.
one thing I vigorously disagree with is your prediction the our "train could derail" once the ACC schedule begins...outside of duke and carolina, the ACC is unbelievably down this year...maybe the worst in its history. I can't see the hoos falling below fourth or fifth in the league (I'm calling 3rd)
stop by the basketball board on https:www.thesabre.com for some good analysis from the other side.

I think I'm coming and bringing at least one, Tulane. Just got back from Atlanta and totally exhausted so not sure.

Man, you are giving your offense a lot of credit if you see them getting to 65... I'm saying neither team scores above 60.
58-52 LSU

Looking at the ACC now and I guess you are right. Very down. I wish the best for UVA after Monday for sure! I just am not convinced with them yet. I dont think Michigan is that good as is, but I can easily be convinced come tomorrow night. Good luck UVA fans!

I understand. Especially after a tough loss like last night. I was hurting this morning after drinking my sorrows away. Not a fun NYE at all.
If you make it in, ill be at walk ons for food and drinks pregame. Ill buy you a drink for your troubles. :)

The reason I see LSU scoring more than 60 this game is because I am looking how LSU will attack UVA. Because their defense is so good I see us running alot and trying to score in transition. I like our transition offense, especially with our depth. We have done everything better in transition and see that continuing. I also like our ability to get O rebounds against them and some easy putbacks.
edit: Just saw you were talking about UVA scoring 60 but I guess here is my reason why I think LSU can do so.

Funny to see my LSU intro thread linked in their game preview. This board has some reach.

Yea, as an LSU fan I saw where you were coming from for the most part. I just think this is going to be a defensive struggle from the opening tip. Both teams can really lock down on D so I don't see either getting out of the 50s

Obviously, I wouldnt be even slightly surprised if the game was in the 50's, but I just have a feeling the Tigers are gonna come out hot like Marquette game. The PMAC should be loud like the Marquette game and the team really responded to the excitement.

I hope so, I think it's safe to say that if they pull out the win tomorrow 11-3 with two wins over ranked teams is far better than anyone expected coming into this season

Nice game assessment SOS! I like to also put in my 2 cents if you don't mind. I like our chances too considering we are really deep on offense and have contained many of our opponents.
I think if we can crash the boards and keep the opponent from getting second chance points, we can definitely put them away. However, my only true worry is losing the turnover battle...for the tigers have continued to get better in this area, but are prone to turn the ball over at times. All in all, I hope we can pull this victory out!

We're gonna extend that win streak tomorrow night.

I agree that the turnover battle will be a huge key to this game. With two defenses that play as well as these do, every shot will count and every possession needs to be coveted.

Looking at our schedule when the season started, I saw 9-4 pre-conference, not of course knowing fully what to expect with all the new pieces coming in.
Now I certainly didn't expect one of the losses to be to South Alabama. That and the Coastal loss are still both very disappointing (this ain't last year's Coastal) but we've also beaten some teams I did not expect and have shown some improvement and progress.
Overall I'm proud of the team to this point and if we can win tonight I'll consider this pre-conference schedule a success and better than I expected.
Geaux Tigers!
