Who was the better QB: Dan Marino or John Elway?

Both QBs were in the same draft class and are usually ranked very close to each other in all-time QB rankings. Who do you have ranked higher on your all-time QB list?
Case for Marino
Was clearly the far more prolific and superior passing QB (Destroys Elway in TD/INT ratio and has the edge in Comp%, TD%, INT%, YPA, QB rating and pretty much every other passing stat you can think of)
Was 2-1 against Elway and badly outplayed him in head to head meetings (Marino against Broncos: 74-
118, 62.7 Comp%, 888 yards, 7 TDs, 3 INTs, 7.5 YPA, 94.88 QB rating, Elway against Dolphins: 45-96, 46.9 Comp%, 583 yards, 1 TDs, 3 INTs, 6.1 YPA, 56.9 QB rating)
Never had a rushing attack ranked higher than 13th in his career at a time when a good running game was essential to winning the Super Bowl
Had a top 10 defense only five times in his career, by contrast Elway had a defense that ranked in the top 10 in points allowed per game nine times
Case for Elway
Led his team to three Super Bowls in the '80s compared to only one for Marino despite having a very limited supporting cast
Had far inferior talent at WR compared to Marino until the tail end of his career (Nobody will ever mistake Vance Johnson and Mark Jackson for the Marks brothers)
Was a better playoff QB and clutch performer than Marino (Had a better QB rating and averaged over a yard more per pass attempt in the playoffs and had numerous signature moments in the clutch that Marino just doesn't have)
Was a better running QB than Marino and opposing teams had to account for his ability to beat them with his arm or his legs

Elway. Marino has no SB. Ergo, Elway. Laces out.

Marino was the best passer I ever so but overall I would have to take Elway -- he was the Peyton of his day

Really close. Both are in my top 5 of all-time.

True, but he pretty much led them to the Super Bowl in each of those years, where they faced a far superior opponent each time.

In the playoffs, Elway had a better QB rating, averaged over a yard more per pass attempt and rushed for 400 more yards than Marino. He also had a 14-8 record in the playoffs while Marino was only 8-10 in the playoffs. It's hard to make an argument for Marino being a better postseason QB than Elway.

Marino easy.
Elway is overrated.

What does any of that, have to do with:

He got there. How many times did Marino get there?

My point is that Elway was better in the playoffs regardless of his Super Bowl performances. It shouldn't be a factor in determining the better postseason QB because Marino only played in one SB and his performance in that game was mediocre.

He's saying that performance in the Super Bowl isn't everything. There are a lot of other games.

Given that Super Bowls are part of the playoffs, it illustrates that even given 3 bad Super Bowls, he managed to overcome these tremendous shitstains of performance to put up extremely respectable numbers.

Not to mention Elway also won 2 Super Bowls and was the Super Bowl MVP in the second.

The Fk? Terrell Davis was the best player on the Broncos in their 2 super bowl wins. He ran for over 100 yards in every playoff game both years. Against GB he had 150 yards rushing and 3 tds. Elway had 127 yards passing, an int and a rushing td in that game. Also, the Falcons were not a superior opponent in their 2nd superbowl.

Elway and I don't think it's close.

I think you answered your own question.
