No matter how vindicated we feel about this, Les Miles still hired him and kept him around for 4 years. I also think that most of the problems we had were because of Crowton. I just wish that Miles would have gotten rid of him sooner.

I'll never understand why we kept him for so long. I guess that 2007 and poor QB play in 2008 masked what the reality was.

Board wouldnt let him after 2009 buyout was too big. Les had a playcard with him all last year trying to not let gary screw anything up. Say what you want about Les and his playcalling skills we would have at least had an identity which fitted our personel (i form running football) if he had been calling the plays. No playcard this year.

Unbelievable. The fact we won 8, 9, and 11 games with him at OC is incredible and speaks volumes for Miles' coaching imo. Bad offensive coordinators can ruin careers of good head coaches.

I feel bad for anybody that has lost his livelihood - even at that level of pay.

I'd be curious to know if LSU's success this year (sans Crowton) had anything to do with it indirectly...

Well, you have to give Maryland a lot of credit, unlike LSU and Oregon, we both kept Crowton around way too long.........

I just wish you guys would have kept him ONE more year.......

Hopefully he lands on his feet somewhere. No one should take comfort or joy in other's misfortune in this tough economic time.

Did you not read the article? He had a 3 year contract that guaranteed him at least 500k/year so he will be ok financially since he will basically get a $1 million severance.

the offensive coordinator had a three-year deal that paid him more than $500,000 in guaranteed annual compensation.

That is 15 years salary of a insanely good paying job. I'm pretty sure he'll be okay until he finds another proffesion

Agreed, somewhat. He seemed like a nice enough man. I saw him at the airport early on and he was very nice to me.

He will be fine. He has gobs of money and will find somewhere to coach soon.

Anyone who has seen Gary's offense before would know that this is Edsall's offense. Typical UConn football. It will never work in the Big East!
