If you could only have one, would you rather Collins or Kiel?

Collins.

But, I'll take both

ETA: LSU has proven it could be DOMINANT with an awesome defense and mediocre QB play. And, Collins is an amazing talent from in-state.

Amazing talent and LSU already has Jerrard Randall and Rivers redshirting this year at QB.

Kiel..........no brainer.

Collins is a damn good player and I would LOVE to have him in Purple and Gold. However, I think he is more easily replaced than Kiel. We've had great DBs for years. QB is another story. Sure, we CAN win in spite of poor QB play, but wouldn't LSU fans like to get back to the days where the QB HELPS us dominate our opponents?

LSU is thought of by many as D-Line-U and DB-U. Not only do we have a knack for finding lower rated players who are actually stars, but we also pull many elite prospects. Collins is replaceable. On the other hand, we haven't always had the best luck at QB. Kiel has the talent, intelligence, and potential to be a blend of Andrew Luck and Colt McCoy. Great field awareness, quick and a hard runner, cannon arm, good downfield reads, nice touch or zip on passes as needed.

I think with Mettenberger and Randall, LSU is starting on a path that is going to lead us to dominance on both sides of the ball.

Can you imagine LSU with our current Defense, but an offense better than Stanford, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, etc? We could be unstoppable for years to come.

I'll say it again. COLLINS and its not close. when you have a dominating defense, the first order of business is to maintain your competitive advantage. not to mention what collins no. 2 school is.

Collins. Our offense really doesn't need a very good QB to win with our RBs and Beast Line. We're DB U baby.

Not a LSU fan but I'd rather have Collins. He is in the mold of PP7 and is a future NFL 1st round pick.

The jury is still out on Kiel, plus yall already have Mett with 2 years remaining.

Collins and it isn't even close.

Like others have mentioned, our last two titles and our run this year have revolved around our dominant defense. While our QBs were better in our first two titles, we've shown we can find success with the ones we have now.

Also, Mett will likely start the next two and then give it over to Randall and Rivers, both I have heard are progressing extremely well.

Collins is a rare breed of athlete like PP7 or PP21 now is. There aren't many like Collins out there

The thing is Miles-ball makes QB play largely irrelevant. With our Defense, Special Teams, Backs and Line, we will NEVER throw the ball 30 times per game.

Under Miles, 250 pass ypg is a huge outing. 250 russ ypg is routine. I just don't think for our offense, the QB matters a hell of a lot. In some ways I'd rather have Alford's speed, because we're so good at the option.

Collins is a boss. 6'0, 210, great hands, huge hitter, all muscle, fluid hips, 4.43 laser 40. Kid has the whole package. We have the best DB coach in the country. Collins would be here 3 years and be a top 10 pick like PP7 and MC17. Kiel would sit for 3 years and then maybe pass for 2100 yards a season. If we were Arky or Georgia, it's Kiel all day. For LSU and Bama, Collins is coveted.

Kiel. I'm not concerned about LSU's ability to play defense with or without Collins.

Kiel would open a lot of eyes to national recruits - especially WRs and offensive players.

Kiel. We need a great QB prospect with this class.

We haven't had any problems finding really good safeties.

Kiel and it's not even close.

Miles and Chavis have proven they can develop amazing DBs that other programs don't even offer. I trust in them to find and develop quality DBs.

It would be nice to have a legit playmaker at QB. A QB that would keep defenses from stacking the box and running up safeties all game.

I love to keep the top prospects in state but QB is the most important position on the field.
