Say what you want about our defense...

but that was about as intelligent of play across the board for our defense on the last play. The minute Locker was out of the pocket everyone of our guys in coverage started knocking down receivers.

Some people just refuse to accept criticism.

I lol'd like crazy when Porter took out Washington as he was coming across the middle.

Whos not excepting criticism? We had bad moments and good moments. We held a team to 17 points. In the NFL that usually equals win.

Chris Johnson is my fantasy running back and he had been getting well over 100 yards a game for the last three weeks or so.
The Saints D shut his arse down. Cost me a playoff win in fantasy FB, but I don't care.

The Saints "D" gives up big plays, and that needs to stop, but they give up most of those plays/yards between the 20's. They have done a good job of stopping teams once inside the 20, and forcing field goals. During the last 4-5 games, they have held their opponents to less than 20 points, average. That is not too shabby. They have also done a lot better at stopping the run.
I really think the defensive woes are more the play calling in certain situations (such as within 2 minutes) that have had these games come down to the wire, like the Titans game and Falcons game. Williams is being a little too aggressive with his blitzes in those situations. I think we have a good defense, just not the greatest of calls in critical moments. That needs to change, and hopefully it will for playoff time.
When I look at the Titans game, I see a game that the Saints dominated and should have won by double digits. Some defenseive woes and some untimely offenseive penalties are what kept the score as close as it was. I am not in the slightest worried right now.

Williams doesn't disguise his blitzes and they are poorly set up, that is the problem

the frick?
Williams usually lines 4-6 guys near the LOS every other play. Whether he rushes 3 or 7 is anyone's guess. Not to mention LBs and DBs are constantly moving around and disguising coverages.

I actually think the Saints D is a lot better than the stats or a lot of fans say.
They make the big play when they absolutely need to in order to save the game....usually.

Our DBs have sucked arse compared to last year. They are seriously lacking ball skills when the pass is in the air. And Williams is overated as a DC. He leaves the middle of the field wide arse open every time he blitzes.

This times a billion
the blitzes aren't creative and a majority of the time they get picked up easily and our corners are too stupid to jam at the line.
That and the fact my 80 year old grandmother could blitz faster than whoever we are sending.
