Drew brees needs to average 239 yds/gm over the last 3 games to take the single season passing yards record. If he throws for 300 yards in 1 game he will need to average 209 in the other 2 to break the record.

I think it's safe to say he will pass Marino. The only question is who will finish with more yards. Brees, Brady, or Rodgers.

Rodgers won't even play in week 17 so he's out. Brady will keep it close for sure. But we need to win all remaining 3 games to help with the the 3 seed so expect 40 passes a game from Brees. Do the math from there

No way. They want the 16-0. I'm sure Flynn could get it done but I guarantee Rogers wants to be on he field.

Yeah. No way A-Rod sits out of he has a shot at going undefeated. This season is his FU masterpiece to the NFL and I gotta say I love the attitude he plays with. I'm hoping we crush his dream but I definitely respect it.

San Fran losing today helps with the record since we still have the 2 seed to play for.

Before hand, there was a legit chance that we'd have the 3 locked up heading into the final week with no shot at the 2. Then it would come down to whether Sean wanted to play Drew to get the record or not, and he would probably sit him.

We just can't drop any of the next two games so we still will have something to play for headed into the Carolina game.

Marino's record is definitely getting broken. The question will be if Brees can maintain his lead over Brady. I'd say it's 70-30 in Brees' favor. They both have a lot to play for as far as playoff positioning so that shouldn't be an issue. Drew has about 100 yards on Brady and gets to play indoors for the 3 remaining games.

Rogers wont sit out the last week but he might only play 2-3 quarters if they are winning by enough.

I think we play Car at home to end the season...just like 08.

Car will be the only team in history to have, more than once, a QB eclipse the 5000 yd mark against them. And to boot the same QB.

Odds of that ?

Drew might actually pass 5000 against the Failcons

he'll definitely put up a lot of yards next week against the Vikings.

have you seen them play pass defense?

I'm leaving for Minnesota on Friday so I'm looking forward to watching Drew light up that secondary.

They changed the scheduling rules before the 2008 season so that all teams would play divisional opponents in the last two weeks of the season, so the odds wouldn't be as long as you might think.

Brady has been closing the gap with Brees. Last week, he was 115 passing yards behind Brees. This week, he's 95 passing yards behind Brees. Right now, Brees still is projected to finish ahead of Brady.

Projected yards
Brees: 5,376
Brady: 5,259

Last week, Brady was projected to only reach 5,221 passing yards. Of course, Brees was projected to hit 5,375 passing yards. Brees was +1 in his projected yards after this week while Brady was +38. They had a difference of -154 passing yards in favor of Brees last week, but that's only -117 passing yards this week. That's a significant jump since Brady went up to 328.7 Y/G from 326.3 Y/G while Brees only went up to 336.0 Y/G from 335.9 Y/G.

The odds of Brady sitting for a significant amount in week 17 is great as they will probably have the #1 seed wrapped up. Same with Rodgers, doubt he will play 4 quarters.

There are strong odds that Brady could sit. We never know what will happen in the next three weeks. If the battle for the #2 seed comes down to the final week, one has to imagine Brees will play. If the Saints wrap up the #2 seed, then the record chase might get interesting.

Brees next 3 games are in a dome. Brady has to play at Denver next week plus 2 at home. The weather may play a factor also, advantage Brees.
