When he used to stay in the city alot more, he would ride his bike all over the lower end of the quarter and marigny. I wonder if he was scared.
In the next 6 months there will be a shite load of movies filmed in N.O. with many stars. I be none of them act like this little pansy Allen while they are here.

you missed the funniest part of that article:
"Our goal right now is not to be the worst team in Vikings history,” Allen said. “We need to win two games – one win to tie it, two and two to beat it. That’s our motivation."

i wonder if he's actually been to a third world country

Wow, you people are being total homers about this shite. New Orleans is a shithole in a lot of places and the crime is still high as frick. You call the guy a pussy, but it doesn't matter how bad you are if you're going up against a gun. I love certain parts of NOLA and have gone there with my dad since I was a baby to Saints games, but even I can agree whole-heartedly with him especially from his standpoint where he doesn't feel the sense of pride like we do. Its people like you guys that prevent athletes and celebrities from being honest because they are forced to apologize for "offending" people with their fake outrage.

I've never gone up against a gun, and I'm pretty sure Allen hasn't either.

I honestly don't even know what to say if you think it's acceptable to compare New Orleans to a third world country. I can understand disliking the city because it might night be as nice or as safe as some other places in the US, but to call it that is down right ignorant. I can't even take your opinion seriously.

Of course New Orleans is a shithole in a lot of places. You missed the point that's he's a millionaire who had no reason to go to any of them. To say he can't go out to eat is absurd. And you can be honest without calling an American city a 3rd world country.

If I took Jared Allen seriously, I might be offended by something he said. As it is, I'll laugh it off. Face it, the guy's last couple of trips to NOLA haven't gone well for him.

He said he doesn't go out, doesn't eat here, and is upset because he cant carry his gun.
NOLA has some of the best food in the world, is nationally renown for its night life, and I (along with many of my friends, and many posters here) was born in New Orleansa and have lived here my whole life. I dont own a gun and I never feel unsafe. To say you agree with him "whole-heartedly" is just stupid.
And of course he doesn't feel the sense of pride like we do and we are being homers about this. We live and breathe New Orleans. If someone talked sh*t about wherever you're from (I assume Alabama or Atlanta) you'd probably be upset to.

Sorry for insulting you. I just read that you are a bouncer in Lafayette. Lafayette is a shithole of a town where i always feel like I'm gonna get shot. Sure wish i could carry my gun around there. Extra insults not needed as your life seems to be a funny enough insult.
Remember you can't refute my claim that Lafayette is a shithole or you would be a "homer" who won't let me express my opinion. Anyone out there "wholeheartedly" agree with me?

Don't try and defend his comments. He is being ignorant at best, but most likely just being an a-hole.
Posted on 12/9/11 at 8:12 am to THRILLHO
That's an ignorant thing for someone in the public eye to say, but if I'm being honest I.avoid new Orleans like the plague.
