Had a guy talk to me yesterday about selling Primerica Insurance. I have really never heard of it, but I googled and found mixed reviews. Any of you ever heard anything about it? Pros/Cons

I've heard mixed things about it, but it really depends on the kind of person you are. How do you think you would handle cold calling? rejection? are you willing to put in the hours it takes to make it in that industry?

These are important factors that make or break you in that industry.

First, I would search for the term Primerica as there was a long thread on this recently.

Second, I would suggest if you pursue the license to go to an outside school and not the piece of shite "school" they run internally. Just my 2 cents

Isn't this the one that alot of people consider just a pyramid scheme of some kind?

I'm in the insurance business and they are a HUGE joke. POS company with POS mindset. You are really brain washed during training. And yes it is a huge pyramid scheme.
If seriously thinking of going into this business go with one of the top 5 companies:
Northwestern Mutual, New York Life, Mass Mutual, MetLife, Gaurdian.

A "friend" of mine took me to lunch. Thought it was going to be about catching up on old times. Turns out to be a Primerica pitch. They brought in the local Primerica "Vice President" flashing their diamond ring and Mercedes Benz as the closer. This friend basically needed me more than I needed them. You make sales and the person who brought you on board profits from your success!

Stay away.

Primerica is a pyramid scheme. Great, if you are at the top with all of your minions under you. Have only come across a handful that didn't make me scratch my head about their proffesionalism.

my biggest gripe with companies like this....you are going to "school" to prepare for a license exam and they give you less than adequate preparation since they spend most of their time training you for their products and schemes

of course, never been inside the place but I have been told enough first hand to get the picture

i tried MLM back in the mid 90's for excel telecommunications. It was a joke. If you are not at the top during the early stages you are screwed. No if's and's or but's about it. You need a HUGE downline to make anything.
