I liked him better than Henry Blake.
I'll be the first one to say it...
He was still alive?

AfterMash opening credits
Just watch the first 5 seconds - that CBS Special graphic. The random nostalgia hit me like a strong gust of wind. I felt 8 years old.

Sad to hear that. But he did have a long life and some very memorable roles.

I remember watching Dragnet on Nick at Nite in the mid 90s. I was surprised then.

I fondly remember him in The Apple Dumpling Gang and The Apple Dumpling Gang Rides Again.

R.I.P. Colonel Potter
I was very concerned who was going to replace Blake, and Harry Morgan did a great job.

I always remember him as Officer Bill Gannon, Col. Harry Potter, and few remember him as the judge in Inherit the Wind (original)

Loved it when he shoots his jeep after Frank ran over it with a tank.

Damn.
You knew something good was coming on if you saw that intro.

It's so weird how you can not see something for 25 years, and then it's immediately familiar and invokes all kinds of memories and feelings the second you see it.
