Herbstreets stand in 2007

Someone please explain to me Herbsteets change in opinion from 2007 to 2011. In 2007 he told Georgia they couldn't go to the BCSNC because they didn't win the SEC championship game. UGA was ranked #3 in the nation going into the final week of the regular season in 2007. The top 2 teams Missouri and WV lost. Wouldn't that put GA at #1? Don't get me wrong I'm glad we got to go and win it all. But why is it this year Alabama can go even though they didn't even go to the SEC Championship game. Sure wish I had a way to bring this to Herbstreets attention on national tv and let him answer on the air to the entire nation. Anyone know how to do this.

He actually has admitted in interviews this season that his stance has changed on the matter. People are allowed to change their opinions if they see a reason why they should.

This is why:
Because ESPN told him to say it.
Because ESPN told him to say it.

Because he obviously doesn't have any convictions that money can't change.

This is why:
Because LSU had an identical record to UGA, won more games against top competition, and won the conference...........even our losses weren't comparable because both were in OT.
It's was quite fricking simple.
This year Bama was competing against 2 other teams realistically(Stanford, OSU), so therefore the argument took on a different stance.
UGA couldn't be debated with OSU because they were #1 in BCS standings.
Bama could be debated with the other conference champs because they had identical records, and the losses weren't the same.

Did he say is reason for changing his mind was because of his hatred for LSU and he really wants to see Bama beat us and he thinks they will?

His reason for changing his mind was because it was about the 2 best teams playing for it all.

Because he is a Gump lover. Did'nt you ever notice the only helmet he had on his shelf (when commenting on the BCS standings from his home) at one time was for Bama, until someone called him out on it, then he tried to add a few more. He's a "Gumper Sucker" and he can have them.
But I'm telling you after we beat them this time, I don't want him or any of those other ESPN losers giving props to LSU. Rod Gilmore is probably one of the only ones that I give a little respect to because he pleaded to the voters to not give Bama a "free pass" and look over other teams. He acknowledged their talent, but was truly one of the only ones to step up and say something contrary to the other Gump buttkissers!!
We will give those jerks something to chew on. Oh, and one of the worst Gumpers is Joe Scarborough on MSNBC. He went to school there and thinks there is no team in the nation better than Bama. He just knows they will beat us this time.
I say they can all go to the "hot place down under"!!!!!!

KH represents the interests of ESPN/ABC. He has no 'stand' of his own.

Truthfully, in 2007, Herbstreit was comparing Georgia to LSU, the exact team the won the same conference. This year he is comparing Alabama, from the SEC, with a team that won a different conference.

The 2007 Georgia argument is not relevant. The reason LSU went over Georgia wasn't because UGA didn't win their conference - it was because UGA wasn't as good as LSU.
LSU had a better record, tougher schedule, and overall much more impressive resume than Georgia. Regardless of where Georgia was ranked going into the last game, it was a no-brainer to put LSU>UGA.

Pretty sure his point was that they shouldn't go over LSU (a contender as well) when they weren't in the SECCG.
Same thing was said here, and was why LSU could lose the SEC and still go to the title game
UGA was not a contender this year, hence the difference.

Holy shite. Do you spineless retards really believe this shite? Grow a set of nuts.

We should not even be discussing this non-sense. Who cares what Herbstreit's opinion is? What we should really be discussing is ESPN's self-serving interest and influence in college football, and how that influence is destroying any semblance of justice or fairness on the field.
