I respect the guy. But really, enough of your Michigan point of view of everything; our coach, and last night, the honey badger. STOP IT.
It's palpable and I for one am tiring of his constant and not always subtle marginalizing of teams he clearly doesn't like. I don't need to mention which, but if you pay careful attention, you catch it with nearly every coverage. He may give credit to a team he clearly doesn't really respect, but it's not easy for him, and it's only words, you "hear" nothing heartfelt behind it.
This is my rant for today. And what better place to do it than The Rant, right?
Meeeeshigan...

It's pointless to ask these sorts of questions. You are taking one instance from one game in the past, and trying to have it reflect on current and future outcomes. Dynamics change with the every outcome. For example, would OK State have played as hard last night had they made that field goal against ISU? You can't really say they would with 100% confidence, as, I'll offer one of myriad possibilities, they could've had a letdown against Oklahoma.
I'm kidding!!!! I agree with you tiger88

Danielson played high school football at Divine Child High School under Tony Versaci in Dearborn, Michigan, and graduated in 1969. He played college football at Purdue University and graduated in 1973. He succeeded Mike Phipps as the Boilermakers' starting quarterback in 1971, and had 30 touchdown passes and 14 interceptions with a 46 percent completion rate in 2 years as a starter.
Danielson spent two years in the short-lived World Football League as a non-starter, with the New York Stars/Charlotte Hornets in 1974 and the Chicago Winds in 1975.[1] The Winds franchise folded a month before the league's collapse in October, and Danielson signed with the Lions (as in Detroit Michigan) for the 1976 season.
He amassed 13,764 passing yards and 81 touchdowns in 101 games in the NFL. He ranks fourth in Lions history in passing yards and touchdowns. His five touchdowns in a 1978 game against the Minnesota Vikings is still tied for a Lions record.

He was a good QB, I'll give him that.

Danielson doesn't piss me off nearly as much as Verne Lundquist. How many times did he mention gleefully how LSU went without a first down in the first half? Seemed to slam LSU every chance he got. Kept bringing up JJ's arrest. At one point I think, when talking about the polls, mentioned that LSU was a "near unanimous #1" while we were looking at the poll which had LSU a perfect 1.0000.
Douche bag.
Douche bag.

Danielson is really good at what he does. One of the best in the buisness.

Everyone thinks Danielson disrespects their team. Maybe that means he truly isn't biased.
Now, Verne on the other hand.

Danielson is really good at what he does, with a Michigan bent. One of the best in the business, though with a consistently subtle Northern Mid-West bias.

Gary Danielson is one of my favorites. I may not like what he says, but he is still one of the best.
Oh well, can't please everyone.

I like Danielson and Lundquist. They are paid to commentate on both teams and keep the audience balance. I did not hear anything out of line and actually the national sportscasters have been quite complimentary of LSU (i.e. best team ever maybe...)
Craig James on the other hand is a complete dirck. Last season after the NC was over and the panel on ESPN was picking preseason top 5's and many picked LSU. James scolded all of them and said no way LSU makes the top 20 this year.

If you think he wouldn't have brought all these things up for any other team then there is no helping you.
He isn't bashing LSU, he is doing his job. Telling people stats and stories that happened throughout the year.
Not everyone follows LSU and for some people last night might have been the first time they ever heard of the QB situation at LSU. That is why we have been hearing it every game. To inform first time watchers of an LSU game the stories that have taken place over the season.

During the preseason this was not that bad of a prediction. Looking at LSU's schedule prior to the year most logical people probably thought there was a good chance of LSU having 3 to 4 losses.
Neutral site Vs Oregon
At Mississippi State
At West Virginia
At Alabama
Very likely LSU would drop 2 or 3 of these games as well as a normal slip up against Ole Miss or Arkansas and a Florida team returning one of the better QBs in the league and a new head coach so no one really could predict how Florida would turn out but most thought they would be a pretty good team in the East.
The team was returning 2 ineffective quarterbacks so yeah I really don't think it was that bad of a prediction that LSU would not be in top 20. It doesn't mean that he hates LSU. It means he was trying to predict wins and losses LSU would have based on who they have coming back, who they were playing, and where they were playing those games.

So now he hates LSU and Bama fans say he hates them. Any other teams he doesnt like?

Last night's commentary on CBS was awful. Both commentators had trouble complimenting LSU without mentioning Alabama or blaming Georgia for a silly mistake in the same breadth.
Gary and Verne do our games every week it seems and they still act like they have never read the team roster before. Gary frequently fricks up player names, Verne too. There is no excuse for this. We are the best college team to ever exist.
Obviously, I don't care that much because honestly I like it when LSU isn't the golden child media darling bitch like USC and Notre Dame. But damn, those dudes were really terrible last night- honestly I had to mute it.
