It's hard to beat any team twice in a season.
Last year Nebraska destroyed Washington 56-21 in the regular season then lost to the same Washington team in a bowl game 19-7

I feel we earned the right not to play bama again by beating them at home. In the rematch situation bama has nothing to lose and everything to gain. Plus all the other points that have been brought up in countless rematch threads..

Lot of wusses on this board. Some of you may want to think about taking Sam Montgomery as a roll model... That, my fellow Tigers, is what they call "confidence", and you will go farther in life with it than without it.

In the beginning I was in the camp of ( been there done that ) LSU has beaten Bama what more is there to prove by beating them again.
Now I am all for the rematch, Its time to once and for all shut everyone up. When LSU beats their asses in the Dome, they can either admit LSU is the best team or just STFU.

Exactly. That was too big of a victory to now have it voided and just let Bama in.
Again no one is going to dispute Bama is OK st loses.. so all could be moot.. Only if they lose do I have absolutely no problem with Bama getting in. Why is that so hard to understand.
It is not about being afraid. I truly believe LSU will beat Alabama again, especially in the dome. It just truly doesn't have much appeal. I really don't care to hear about Bama for an entire month.. we shall see. Technically Bama is a 3rd place team in the entire conference*.. LSU vs UGA.. then theres bama just sitting idle.

its a reasonable evaluation to say that Bama is good enough to beat LSU if things break right for them.
it was a close game decided by several events, all but one of which broke for LSU.
one big thing broke for Bama. the fumble by Trent when he was hit by Reid bounced harmlessly out of bounds instead of remaining on the field of play for the LSU OLB to snatch and take to the house.
second, the late hit on Jarrett Lee was ignored. THat would have kept that drive alive.
Basically it was an even game.
So of course LSU fans would rather play someone easier.
Why play a hard game when you can thrash Okie Lite or Va Tech.
I hope that only one of them wins today so the other gets all the votes. Bama can play Houston.

I want OSU simply because I like that matchup more. Heavy passing offense and great receivers against a stifling defense and phenomenal secondary. I think it'd be a fun and interesting game and matchup.
On the other hand...1) we've played bama. We do every year. I like the regular season matchup meaning something. 2) LSU and Bama are somewhat the same team. Great defense, great ground game, decent passing attack. It just doesn't have the same intrigue and level of entertainment that LSU OSU would have.
That being said, IDGAF who we play. I'm happy to be there and I don't think anyone takes it to us either way.

That's the best you got?
Only a Bama fan/non-LSU fan would see a last 10 game series record of 8 wins for LSU and 2 wins for Bama, a coaching record of 3 wins for Miles and 2 wins for Saban, a season record of 1 win for LSU in Bama and no wins for Bama, and still push the agenda that LSU/LSU fans are "scared" of Bama.
Someone needs to wake up and smell the coffee and it's not me.

Maybe some are, but a rematch is a shitty idea on its own merits. If Okie Lite posts a solid win against OU, it deserves to be in the BCSCG over 'Bama.

I go back and forth, but really I was against a rematch
In 06.
Still don't care for it. Every game counts!!!

Mine was better. If you want to be spoon fed a lesser opponent that's fine.
As an LSU fan I will admit to being nervous that we will more than likely have to play Alabama again, however any real football fan not drinking the kool aid can tell you that it is extremely difficult to beat a good team twice in the same season, but fans with the glasses on want to post numbers and root to play the lesser opponent.

You have gone from saying how scared LSU fans are of a rematch to saying "as an LSU fan".
Right, you are a real football fan and any having a different slant than you is drinking some kinda kool aid...sounds kinda Bama fan delusional to me, but whatever floats your boat.
BTW, if we win later today, we will play the #2 ranked team and not a lesser opponent no matter who it turns out to be...right.

GTFO with this shite. It doesn't take a wuss to concede that this Bama team probably beats us 3-4 times in ten. Why would anyone want to risk a potentially groundbreaking season against a team we already fricking beat. You call it scared. I call it sensible. If we hadn't played already (and didn't play them every fricking year, in fact) it'd be the match up that every fan would want. But we played and beat them at home. We have nothing to prove and nothing to gain by beating them vice some other deserving team. They have everything to gain.

I view it as a form of "double-jeopardy" - and I'd rather us play somebody else - but that being said, if it is Alabama, then let 'er rip! Meanwhile, I am trying very hard to focus on today's game versus a strong, dangerous, motivated UGA team!

I don't necessarily have a problem with a rematch. I'd be ok with a rematch with Oregon because they won their conference, Bama did not so IMO they don't deserve a spot in the game.

Best is a singular superlative. You can not beat the best and be the best by definition. It's a paradox.
You over think things too much. We all know what this means. Just go with the flow sometimes.
My guess is the OP is correct in that people are a bit worried about Bama. I think it's the best possible matchup which is why many voters will put Bama in the game vs LSU. I personally don't care, but don't feel OSU will be much competition. Doubt they beat OU anyway.

If they dont then it should be bammer.
But its wrong if OSU wins that they get left out.
Its wrong if to assume bama is better than OSU.....games arent played on paper.
And its definitely wrong for bama to be a LOCK and IN the bsccg before the conference championships are played.
Its flat disrespectful to LSU and the rest of CFB
