Our basketball team needs to step it up or I'm afraid attendance will fall even more. Our coach is on life support and the team barely has a pulse.

I used to be pretty good friends with Alex and I nabbed it for him after his last game but I never got it to him... I still have it in my storage unit

Hijacking my own thread....did anyone here know that Zach Kinsley ended up at Texas A&M? He has played a few minutes in each of their games and scored a few points.

And I also saw that Bo Spencer is the leading scorer for Nebraska this year....although he went like 4-13 tonight.

I knew Kinsley was tearing it up at UNO last year....but I didn't know he had made his way over to A&M. He HAS to be a senior in eligibility by now...

idk qhat it was like when dale was around, but a couple of years under brady, the pmac was rocking. One time playing uconn, and another when we played aTm there. that run at end of 06, couple of sec games were rocking. Other than that you could pretty much sit anywhere as a student. i hated the actual student section so id go sit in a normal seat as close to the basket as i could get.

I mean the only goes who have left early/been kicked off are:

Delwan Graham
Garrett Green
Bo Spencer
Dennis Harris
Zack Kinsley
Daron Populist (only walkon I'll count since he was ok)
Aaron Dotson
Matt Derenbecker

not bad for just starting his 4th season...

I go to the games. But by no means do I stand down with the "Maniacs".

And that's why nothing will change.I sit down there for every game, and they can get pretty bad especially beings most of them know very little about basketball and, as stated previously, the chants are cheesy and unoriginal. But if we could get a good group of... not as awkward... people who know what they're watching down there, it could be a ton of fun and might even kind of flush them out

Maravich Maniacs

These dolts didn't even know who Rico Gathers was at the Nichols game. Tried to get a "We Want Gathers" chant going (since we was supposedly in the building), only to get blank stares.

The main "cheerleader" (black guy wearing the crazy purple wig), flat out told me he's never heard of the guy. I just shook my damn head & walked away

It seems to be the same group that's been sitting down there for 4 years

What's more awkward - the Maniacs or the pregame with music and lights and Dan Borne yelling and getting all excited to dead silence and empty seats.

This guarantees one thing, the 15 students that actually go watch this horribly run athletic program called basketball will get fatter.

for a long time now the guys who "lead" it have been a bunch of douche bags.
Go watch any basketball team in the country and the guys leading their student sections are douchebags. Duke, Kansas, all of them. Buddy of mine who went to Duke said it's obviously still cool to go to the games, but the hardcore student fans are considered to be huge dorks.

My guess is that they watch LSU road games together, organize the cheers/chants, come up with particular personal chants for the opposing team we are playing during that period, and just generally have fun and enjoy each other's company.

He had a pretty high bar to reach to keep up with Brady, but I think Trent is doing a good job in that respect.

It's neat to watch LSU AND watch a dozen other teams that have former LSU players on them.

Although, we have a player from Ole Miss and a player from Iowa State.... maybe turning over a couple of players a year is normal?

I don't follow college basketball rosters well enough to know.

ETA: I glanced around the SEC, and damn near every team has at least one transfer from a major conference. Hell, Kentucky has guys from Providence, Miss. State, and NC State.

If those guys are coming in, I'm sure others are leaving. I guess I didn't realize that "player movement" was so prevalent in college basketball.

LSU B-Ball had a chance to regain some of that 80's & early 90's passion when Brady had all the local talent & some other good players. But fans including myself disliked Brady as our coach so much that it had no chance of happening.

Trent is obviously a great guy, but he just doesn't have any charisma and his teams haven't been good so far, and that's a disaster. I'm not sure how much of a rats-arse the higher-ups at LSU care about basketball, but I'd love to see something happen to make it exciting again.

Why do people call out students who actually go support their team?
