I'd much rather the LSU job over the Bama job for the simple fact that recruiting is much easier (especially in-state) and couple that with the facilities. Plus everything you do as the coach would get compared to Bear. No thanks. I'll take Baton Rouge

I will admit that I am not tuned in too much to the Bama fanbase, but I almost feel that Saban has made a lot of people forget about the Bear...at least nationally.

The Bear has been dead nearly 29 years.

Facilities are going to almost be a wash as any of the big jobs. Tiger Stadium could still use several of the upgrades BDS has received over the past few years.

Yeah I think it is a combination of that and the fact that those people, quite frankly, are dying off. Everyone thought you had to have a connection to the Bear to coach at Alabama. The fact the University got burned by the few they hired that didn't have that connection (Fran, Price) didn't do that "myth" any favors. I think Saban has proved once and for all you don't need that connection to be successful here.
