Wasnt Saban one of the big backers of Toonces? I seem to remember him wanting to appeal more nationally and put the idea into action and helped descide on toonces? Does anyone else remember this?

He was supportive of the plan of a unified brand with LSU and athletics. LSU marketing then hired a guy for millions of dollars (who didn't go to LSU BTW), to draw toonces. The worst mistake LSU has ever made in my eyes.

So now you have bandwagon fans from the past successful years who only know toonces and think it's "badass" and a winner. LSU wont accept the mistake and will grind out toonces as long as it takes. They boast toonces because of the huge merchandise sales but thats convenient since when it came out LSU was chasing championships in every sport for the first time in school history.

I have talked to people that sell merchandise, and a large majority of fans despise the logo and will pay anything for the old logo. Tiger Mania is starting to carry more clothing with the older symbols because they said it flies off the shelves.

LSU's entire marketing department is filled with ronnies who think their terrible ideas are "badass"
