Yes it is my opinion, as stated I can't speed up the time frame for the BCS selection. I can only tell you what the results will be, BAMA-LSU. There is not alternative to this selection.

Down to the Tribune's love for Dewey, using "experts" to indicate that the returns would be in favor for Dewey?

Me thinks you've been watching to many of the experts on ESPN. Is it a strong possibility that Bama will be in NOLA on 1/9, yes. Is it for certain, no.

Meh, the Gallup was in its infancy and not yet refined. Stopped polling two or so weeks before election, etc. No correlation to current BCS and the outcome.

Have not watched ESPN , sportcenter, etc. for over five years. Not once. Excluding CBB and CFB games played on ESPN.

If OSU jumps them, this would be a Dewey/Truman moment. All the experts clamoring for a rematch, the major media outlet and their reporters claiming certainty before the results, all the while the voters said otherwise.

No doubt! I am just impressed. I really thought I'd make the only political correlation there. Then I saw you did, I was dissapointed.

And the comparison is just.

Keep those stats handy......you'll need to recall those in ten years to continue validating Bamas loss to LSU.

Nothing I do has a bearing on the outcome. I don't need to be directly involved to say what will happen. Silly

I'm sure these next points I'll state have been mentioned but I haven't heard them in these words, so here goes nothing...

Wasn't November 5th the "Game of the Century?" Or the "National Championship?"

So basically now, LSU goes into a hostile environment, grinds it out, and comes out with a W.

And what does this all amount to? Everyone in the country had said this game will determine which team goes to compete in New Orleans, not that both will go there again to face off for halfsies.

So what exactly would being 1-1 prove if LSU were to somehow lose (which they won't)? Absolutely nothing.

I understand the old arguments about how teams have faced off in a championship after playing in the regular season in the past. I think a team should win a division and conference to go to the big game, but it's not always absolutely necessary.

Alabama isn't getting penalized for not winning their conference. They are getting penalized for LOSING AT HOME DURING THE REGULAR SEASON. If the other teams had been worth a damn we obviously wouldn't be having this conversation. But, when BCS Countdown stressed "body of work" and "regular season is like a playoff," I think OSU gets the benefit in both categories. Alabama has had some good wins but if you look at the signature games, OSU has more of them.

This situation deems the regular season worthless. But hey, if Bama wins the popularity contest, bring 'em on. We beat them in their house and we can handle 'em in the dome. Geaux Tigers.

Kent State, North Texas, Georgia Southern, were of course very soft out of conference football team that this years Alabama team played. Penn State was pointed out to to be a strong opponent. Wiscongin 45 vs Penn State 7.

09/24/11 vs. Arkansas * TV Tuscaloosa, Ala. W, 38-14
10/01/11 at Florida * TV Gainesville, Fla. W, 38-10
10/08/11 vs. Vanderbilt * TV Tuscaloosa, Ala. W, 34-0
10/15/11 at Ole Miss * TV Oxford, Miss. W, 52-7
10/22/11 vs. Tennessee * TV Tuscaloosa, Ala. W, 37-6
11/05/11 vs. LSU * TV Tuscaloosa, Ala. L, 9-6
11/12/11 at Mississippi State * TV Starkville, Miss. W, 24-7
11/19/11 vs. Georgia Southern TV Tuscaloosa, Ala. W, 45-21
11/26/11 at Auburn * TV Auburn, Ala. W, 42-14
That is the body of work the ESPN Network thinks is the hands down # 2 college football team in our country. And Alabama gets to stay home because this bama team lost to LSU 9-6 in Bryant Dinnie Stadium Tuscaloosa Alabama.
Is ESPN playing the United States college football fans for a bunch of chumps?

And if a bumble bee had butterfly wings it would slap its arse.
That is how I feel about all the excuses from Bama Gumps on the reason they lost and why they deserve a second chance.

The real question I'd like you to answer: Is Alabama the 2nd best team in the country? That, truly truly, is all that matters.

I guess no one would EVER know unless we scheduled yet 'another' game for the best two out of three. Not when the loser has the chance to come back in a one game 'winner take all' after they have already lost, AT HOME!

You folks are just plain delusional.....

OH NO! We have to hold the door open because they are the 'great Babalama!'

You know, the school that has built most of their tradition by making the NCAA change the scholarship rules when they signed every player BB could get into the tent (then discarding many) as well as paying HS coaches, families and anyone else that would take their dirty money to come play for them...

Biggest cheaters in college football.. BUT, "we
the great Babalama, we're 'special'......

No, you have to win when it matters most. You got a W in T-town, good job. It wasn't enough to convince people you're better than us. You got a regular season win. It's not meaningless, but your regular season is over, the games mean more now.

Plenty of teams in all sports, including college football, have lost to a team in the regular season only to beat them in the postseason to win the National Title. Regular season wins are great, but National Championship game is where it matters most.

An unfortunately for you, people still aren't convinced you're really better than Bama. Bama outgained you, missed 4 FG's, made uncharacteristics bonehead mistakes, and lost in overtime. You didn't convince them. Wanna convince them? Beat Bama's arse with the NC on the line. But don't whine about having to play them again.
