Good god. What a traitor (Sarcasm flash for the feeble minded)

quote:

Despite the fact he wore the colors for the bulk of his pro football career, former New Orleans Saints quarterback Archie Manning had one sartorial request for the guests who'll join him in a Mercedes-Benz Superdome suite Monday night. "No black and gold," Manning said Wednesday, smiling.

quote:

And while on Wednesday Manning was at the Latter Library on St. Charles Avenue, filming ESPN's "Monday Night Football" intro piece that had him, fireside, thoughtfully pondering where his allegiances should be directed, his preferences had been predetermined.

Funny thing is, that many people believe he should root for the Saints over his son

What's wrong with Archie pulling for his family?

Some people demanded that he publically congratulate the Saints, so...

Plus, many moronic LSU fans felt that it was wrong for his kids to go elsewhere for school and have hated the Mannings for that.

i see no issue with him pulling for his kids. But as big of an "icon" as saints fans and new orleanians alike have made him out to be, it would have been nice to hear him speak anything positive about the saints winning the super bowl.

I saw frick them. They do nothing for the city anymore. Stop focusing local attention on them.

Yeah I can't understand why people would hold this against Archie. It was brought up during the super bowl and people were actually surprised...Why wouldn't he cheer for his own children? Seriously i would have an issue if he didn't pull for his kids to do well in life.

You hit the nail on the head--even though he has stated clearly his top teams are as follows: 1. Colts and Giants, 3. Saints.

I get the sarcasm and the fact that he's obviously rooting for his son (who wouldn't?)

But disallowing B&G in the suite? BAH

He was "smiling". More sarcasm on his part. I am sure there will be Saints fans in there. He is too and will welcome them.

Ill never understand the hatred for the Mannings..Archie played for Ole Miss so the family never had LSU ties, and at the time their sons were being recruited LSU wasnt all that to begin with.Archies been an icon and voice for the Saints until a few years back and had always given the Saints his love.Well times change and now his kids play elsewhere..
