Working on a new frosting, and it just got me wondering what everyone likes.

Carrot cake, cream cheese frosting

I have always bee a fool for german chocolate cakes, but in truth a simple butter cream frosting is more than enough. Anything else(a la crisco based/powdered sugar) blows big time.

quote:sorry I was being serious. I thought about it and I can't think of any combos I don't like. Carrot cake and cream cheese, lemon, strawberry, chocolate, spice cake, german chocolate. I will pretty much eat and enjoy any type of cake. That can't possibly be a good thing.

Hummingbird Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting is a fav.
If we're going basic though it's chocolate with chocolate.

It may be more nostalgia than any thing else, but my aunt used to make a plain yellow cake with a frosting made out of peanut butter. It was the absolute bomb.
Cream cheese and red velvet is one of my more common favorites.
