Why won't JL guys give credit where credit is due? They act like all of a sudden a light went off and JL became a better QB. And the most irrational ones think JL would have played like this in 09 and 10 if given the channce.

I continue to concede that both JJ and JL have improved. I also concede the possibility that Les Miles plays favorites. Is that a bad thing? It's not usually a bad thing because every head coach does it.

Im wondering the same exact thing. I can see that both QB's have improved. I am truly excited about both QB's improvement. I understand that what we have seen of JJ is a pretty limited look but when he has been called upon, he has played extremely well.
That is coaching. Both QB's have benefited and it makes zero sense to not recognize it.

Justme is the one pullin out stats from '10.
you know the ones you were so heartily agreeing with....so do you have a problem with them, or only when it doesn't suit your point?

quote:You want to ignore Jefferson's 2011 stats because you argue that the sample size is too small. Yet you don't want to use the Post-Bama'10 trend because it does not reflect all of last year. You seem content to ignore Lee's 2008 and 2009 seasons because he got better. Do you disagree with the clear evidence that Jefferson got better starting with the Bama'10 game?
Yet you're also comparing last season to this season. That's not the most relevant information to use when deciding who starts when you consider JJ had a godawful start to 2010.
quote:Yes. He did.
Lee took the starting job this season and ran with it.
quote:Okay.
The Bama game is really the only massive blemish for Lee this season.
quote:So maybe it's okay for Miles to start Jefferson?
He hasn't been great, but neither has Jefferson.

Certainly we need to have the best possible team to help win games - the question is why would you think or assume that the rantards know more about team chemistry, game planning, player weaknesses and strengths more than Les Miles?
I love the "trust in Les" crowd that has come out of the woodwork the past two weeks now that they got their wish and JJ is starting. I would bet that many of these Les knows best crowd were piling in here as soon as JJ was reinstated saying he needed significant playing time and/or his starting job back at a time where JL was rising to be the #2 rated QB in the SEC. Les didn't know squat then, but man, he is all knowing now that JJ is back in charge, and don't you idiots question him.
Hypocrites are rampant in these parts.

If lee had remained starter in balance game we would have a loss already. Our running game is the reason we are 10-0 not quarterback play so enough with this lee is reason we are undefeated.

You are all kinds of mad.
You look ridiculous trying to hate on a 10-0 coach that has his team unanimous #1 in the country and has pushed all the right buttons this year. You might want to gain some perspective because you sound extremely out of touch.

You can see alternate timelines and the multi-verse? You should call the people at CERN, they need to talk to you before spending those trillions in research money.

Nice post, giving no credit to Lee for what he has done this season.

yep, they were.
W''ll need JJ for UF's defense...or Auburns.
Hell, OBudan had a screen shot thread after Oregon dissecting why JL was a terrible passer.

Why didn't you circle completion percentage? or attempts? touchdowns?
JustMe must do political polling or work on the state's budget in between cherry picking stats. He takes it to a new level. So, let's start compiling stats AFTER all those unimportant games last year where JJ threw a passle of interceptions and zero touchdowns, and cut it off, say, whenever his last good game occurs and compare that to whatever other set we need to justify my conclusion. It is obvious that he practices law and not science.

I never said I ignored Lee's performance in 2008 or 2009, but that's because that hasn't come up in our back and forth replies. Of course Lee has improved. So has Jefferson. My big gripe was that you were only using part of a season to base your argument and using that to compare what Lee has done in 10 games (9 starts) in 2011. It's hardly relevant when comparing the two head to head in 2011.

He's the coach, so he's obviously going to do what he wants here. Maybe he's playing favorites. Or maybe it's like what Jim Mora said. "You think you know, but you don't." I do know that I wouldn't have returned Lee to a backup role after all he did this season unless I had a very good reason to do so. Maybe Miles has a good reason, but maybe he doesn't. Either way, he's not going to tell us and nor should he have to explain his reasoning to us.

based on the JJ case....highly doubtful as well.

Any worse than the ones clamoring for JJ to get his starting job back when we were 4-0 against 3 ranked teams on the road with a highly rated QB starting and playing all of those games? I guess those people (and I'm guessing that giving your fandom you were in that number) were out of touch then?
Posted on 11/18/11 at 9:07 am to Commando
He's not saying those games were unimportant. He's saying JJ's most recent games are more important because it is a more accurate portrayal of where he is as a QB today.

No they weren't. But you were adamant that we did not need JJ and he should never come off the bench. If you had your way, we very likely would have lost to Bama.

I was wrong on this one. I expected Florida to actually play defense.

I never have clamored for JJ to get his starting job back. I am on record saying that multiple times. I personally like the Lee starting and JJ in a situational role the best.
My arguments are based on the fact that the Lee only crowd that continues to talk about doomsday scenarios and guaranteeing losses if JJ plays. Which I truly believe won't happen.
It is crazy the amount of conspiracy theories and bullshite that has been thrown around on here.

That's no guarantee, but I'm glad they had JJ available off the bench and he had all that playing time. Most of the problems some fans are having is that JL lost his starting job because of the Bama game. To be honest, I was guilty of saying JL should have lost his starting job after Bama. I wasn't thinking that clearly, which is my only excuse.
