I have thinking this for a while, and it looks to be true, Bob Arum is the biggest obstacle in this fight ever happening.

I think it will get done eventually, too much money to lose. If not it will be because of mayweather, the opportunity is his if he wants it.

I like how a while back the so called boxing experts on this board acted like pacquiao had no chance in this fight. I think he'll win, personally.

Pacman wins this fight by KO.If fight happens this year if not not so sure.Pacman has had wars for the last three years while punk arse Mayweather has sat around with his posse and chilled.

I call BS on this, and your source doesn't know shite

quote:

Leonard Ellerbe, one of Mayweather's advisors, and Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer both told ESPN.com Monday that they were notified that Pacquiao promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank was not interested in coming to the table.

quote:

"We have been informed that Bob Arum is not interested in pursuing a fight between Mayweather and Pacquiao at this time," Schaefer said.

quote:

However, that does not appear to be the plan Arum and Pacquiao have, even if they had said they were open to it before the Marquez fight. Schaefer said the notification came in an email from retired federal judge Daniel Weinstein, the mediator who has worked closely with the sides to settle numerous lawsuits and issues in recent years.

quote:

"The truth of the matter is that we received this afternoon an email from retired federal judge Daniel Weinstein, who has informed us that Top Rank is pursuing a rematch with Marquez and, therefore, is not interested in immediate talks for a possible Mayweather-Pacquiao fight. This is obviously as clear as it can be that they have no intentions of making a Mayweather-Pacquiao fight. Therefore, Floyd Mayweather will have no other choice than to move on and identify and lock in another opponent for his ring return on May 5."

Amazing!! Did you watch the Marquez fight? Marquez got robbed again. Marquez is a counterpuncher. So is Mayweather. The difference is that Mayweather's defense, counterpunching, speed, and power are 1000000 times better then Marquez. BTW Mayweather absolutely destroyed Marquez

These 2 guys purpose on this Earth now is to fight each other. If they do not it will be a complete shame, and will tarnish both mens hall of fame (if boxing has one?) careers.

I like MMA so I can use an MMA reference. This could end up like Fedor. One of these guys is going to either get bored and sloppy or just outright get tagged and lose a fight. The more times they put themselves out there the more chance it is going to happen. Pacman just had a tough fight. Floyd may eventually get caught. Does he have a chin? He never seems to get hit so I honestly don't know.

They just need to shut up and fight.

No.. Paquiao's camp doesn't want to make the fight now that Pacquiao should have lost to Marquez again. Mayweather completely destroyed Marquez.

And it seems to be the only thing at this point, that can keep boxing competitive in this MMA revolution.

Mayweather’s fights over the last three years are Victor Ortiz, Shane Mosley, Juan Manuel Marquez. Before that he fought Hatton and De La Hoya.

Pac’s fights have been against Juan Manuel Marquez, Shane Mosley, Antonio Margarcheta (hasn't done shite since he was exposed for loaded gloves ), Clottey (did he even throw a punch the entire match?), Cotto, Hatton and De La Hoya.

Am I missing the wars v. the couch time? Pac fought a few more times, but the competition in those extra bouts was shite. They have essentially blasted the same competition. Cotto is the only legit fighter Pac beat that Mayweather hasn't faced.

He doesn't stand a chance. Did you watch Marquez take him to school Saturday night? And Marquez is 38 with a lot mileage.

Floyd is 34 and has taken zero to no punishment in his career. Plus he is light years ahead of Marquez in terms of speed, power, defense, footwork, accuracy, and overall boxing IQ.

That fight would be over before it starts.

No way.

Marquez is tougher and stronger than Mayweather. Mayweather hasn't taken a beating like that in his entire career.

Mayweather would beat Pac, but because he would counter Pac's aggressiveness all night with quick jabs and he would win with points. If it came down to a slugfest Pac would win, but Floyd would never stay still for that.
