Leaving any doubt that the staunchest of Bama fans might have as to the legitimacy of the interception call as little more than delusion. Courtesy of the greatest paper on the planet, The Times Picayune. Below those pictures are screen captures from the CBS telecast. Below those are pictures from a Bama photographer.

Be sure to talk about epistemological matters such as these in The Daily Bible Study Thread found on the OT starting around 6 each night.

if that wasn't call a interception on the field, we could very well be 8-1

These pictures don't mean shite to me.

The video clearly shows it's an interception though.

It was a pick! FACT!

But if anyone wants to say otherwise, well, Bama owed us one for 2009, we are even now!

Proof it wasn't a pick. Open wound means he shouldn't have been in the game.

It would've been overturned. At least the correct call would be to overturn it there was undeniable proof in the replay that it was an interception.

Not sure about this. The replay result was:

"The ruling on the field is CONFIRMED!" This means the evidence supports the call.

Otherwise, they say:
"The ruling on the field STANDS" This means there is NOT sufficient evidence to overturn.

I agree with the call completely...the last two shots nail it. I'm still somewhat shocked that the refs didn't call it Bama's way. It was verrrry close.

Between picture 5 & 6 it is clear the ball has turned 90 degrees in a fraction of a second. That is the part where the receiver doesn't "maintain control".

In picture 7, you can clearly see the ball on top of Reid. It is not clear if the receiver has his hands on the ball, but it looks to be closer to Reid's possession than his.

Another picture from the opposite side of #7 would clear up any doubt. Had the ball hit the ground instead of Reid, there would be little doubt that it was an incompletion.

Great Play!

How does it not? it clearly shows the ball was moving around in his hands which means he does not have possession then it clearly shows that Reid has it on the ground. What else could it be? its not a incomplete pass because it never touched the ground. Its not a completion because the bama player didnt retain control. So it must be a interception.

Seems like we skipped some area where he stripped it before they hit the ground.

The view from the endzone was better, more conclusive.
