Back on Oct 4th, Saints announce they sold 10-year naming rights to the Louisiana Superdome...after trying for years.

Last month I drove by and it looks like they were working on the outer walls. Then, yesterday was there and it looks amazing. Really cool bronze color. Lights up at night.

Has never looked better.

Couldn't find any pics, but here is the name change story for out-of-town fans LINK

I was there for the Bucs game last weekend and it really did look upgraded. It looks fantastic from the outside and Championship Square was packed to the walls. They really have a good thing going right now...

Please tell me this is a joke. All you had to do was search "superdome" oh and the article was dated over a month ago.

"superdome" is exactly the word I put into search. It wasn't in the first four pages so I started a new thread.

Since Oct 4th, a lot of work has been done on the dome. It's never looked better. Not everyone on TD.com knows that, so I started a thread. It's not that terrible to let people know. Majority of Saints fans don't live in New Orleans.

I think the new lights are tacky, very tacky. Whoever designed the colors must be on the effeminate side of the spectrum. Pink, purple, blue, are you kidding me? Like a circus clown's makeup. And that God awful advertisement for Mercedes. I really hate the new look. If they only lit it in white light with no logos, it would look great.

Pretty sure they have the ability to light it in any colors.

They changed out all the outer panels and then added lighting.

Dude its been pink for the Kommen foundation. They also lit it in blue and green for your team that no one supports. They had it purple and gold for the LSU game, it can be any color. The only reason we saw pink was for the breast cancer stuff.

Why don't you go put another couple of hours into a bible thread that no one will read.

they started then, they finished last year, and then cleaned the roof again. The lighting system was going up before the sponsorship deal, but the sponsorship deal allows them to run it for 6-7 hours a day 365 days a year

It's AWFUL. Yeah, I know they can change the colors, but on last Friday night, the colors were: purple, pink, and blue. The pink publicity thing for breast cancer, which is an effective attempt of the NFL to pander to women in order to increase viewership and profits, nothing else, is during October I thought. Last Friday night was November.

AWFUL. Like a crying circus clown's makeup smearing the night skyline. I want to vomit each time I think of New Orleans last Friday night.

bddwolfpack, I take it you are being sarcastic.

Dome looked great. Went to Bucs games last year and this year, and it keeps getting better every time I go.

All this talk of puking and sickness in all caps over some changeable lights is pathetic. You know what makes my stomach turn, enjoying a Saints game and then looking up at some lame-arse Tulane banners from almost 100 years ago hanging in the Dome.

Although I don't care what others think of my opinion, it is nice to read that the top art critic in New Orleans agrees with me, at least in part. I think, of course, that the colors whoever it is who is choosing the colors is choosing are an ungodly vomit of pastels whose offense is so great only those who are blind or distasteful do not feel viscerally ill when they view the new New Orleans skyline. The Times Picayune critic has this to say:

"Whoever decided on the size and placement of the corporate bling must have consulted with Flavor Flav...I wouldn’t describe the ever-changing $1.6 million ring of LED lights around the Dome as especially tasteful."

Have you even seen the new pastel skyline, North Carolina? It should make every person, and especially every man with masculine taste, revolt against the great evil that has been forced on us like a Kenny Rogers Roasters neon light outside our window. It is a public skyline, and when things are so distasteful as to create emotional and physical pain, as it has in me, citizens have a right to demand the obscenity removed.
