TM7 is one helluva athlete - didn't look malicious to me.

He might be on helluva athlete, but that was as dumb a penalty as they come. I thought Gary Danielson nailed it when he said it was a selfish play by Mathieu. TM7 was obviously frustrated throughout the game. He was getting beat time and time again in coverage and not making any big plays. I don't think I've ever seen a player wind up and hit and grab and spin a guy on a kick coverage play like he did right there. Makes no sense. I hope a coach got in his ear after that one. OBJ sure should have at least. He had quite the return on that punt.

Yep, even though it was a stupid play, it wasn't dirty nor did it have evil intent.

It was an absolute stupid and boneheaded play. Yeah we all like tyrann, but it seems pretty clear he is drinking his own kool-aid. Just as with Petersen last year, as soon as heisman talk started he hasn't been the same in my opinion.

Yeah except for the time
1. He ran from across the field to the other side on a busted play when TR almost got a TD and TM7 single handedly tackled and pushed him out.
2. He pushed a fricking TE (probably had 80 lbs on him) 5 yards back and tackled him right there.

He had a good game - NOT a HB game that we keep hyping and expecting with a fumble and int and so on- but a good game.

It was a dumb mistake - let us leave it at that - no point in extrapolating it to other issues that are
1. factually wrong
2. illogical
3. coaches concern

Kirkpatrick flopped, IMO.

Tyrone Prothro said something along the likes of "Tyrann Mathieu would've been fined for a hit like that in the NFL!" as his facebook status last night.

Someone commented on it, "Because you'd know about how the NFL works, right?" hahaha

I didn't think it was dirty/thuggish...I thought it was stupid since OBJ did not need that block...

oh well...

TM7 played a pretty good game all things considered.

Rex explain to me why it was a good call. I'm open to change my mind. Forreal.

yes. And looking at how the score turned out, that TR tackle could be viewed as game-saving. TM7 is taking a LOT of heat from our own fans and getting very little credit for the good things he did last night.

like I said last night...I've seen A LOT worse. That was nowhere close to the type of play that would justify the vitriol filled reaction it got.

For a while, I thought I was the only one that saw the wind up.
