There are some really crappy choices for some of these: LINK
25) The Rocketeers
24) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Really?)
23) Hellboy
22) Blade
21) The Crow
20) Superman II
19) Ghost World (Never even heard of it)
18) Sin City
17) American Splendor (Another WTF entry)
16) Thor
15) 300
14) Watchmen
13) Kick-arse
12) Mask of the Phantasm
11) Captain America
10) A History of Violence
9) Iron Man
8) Spider-Man
7) X2
6) Road to Perdition
5) X-Men: First Class
4) Batman Begins
3) Superman
2) Spider-Man 2
1) The Dark Knight
Where the hell is Scott Pilgrim and the Incredibles, and what the hell in TMNT doing up there? Plus I'd think that, despite not aging too well, Batman and X-Men would be up there somewhere, since they started the interest in the first place.

Too high for both of these IMO. I like XMen First Class getting some love.

American Splendor is a great flick, IMO. You should definitely check it out. Giamatti is awesome in it.

I'm not doubting its good, I've just never heard of it until now.

Incredibles was not a comic book film and Scott Pilgrim, while a faithful adapation, was very average to most non-hipster emo's.

OK good point so that gets an excuse.

Do you even know what a hipster or an emo is? They actually very much make fun of the only emo character in the film. And yeah think of a more quotable film in the 2000s. I really can't come up with one. Its certainly a better film than TMNT, and I'd say over half the films listed.

Yeah I know what they are enough to that I'm unreasonably intolerant of their fake uniqueness. Yeah it spoofed the emo, but they were all hipsters and I know its incredibly, "hey kids get off my lawn!" of me to just not like them, I really don't.
I can't disagree with TMNT. I liked it as a kid but when I finally got around to reading the original TMNT comic, I was very distraught that we didn't get a more faithful adaptation.
ETA: Btw, you should check out American Splendor. Its a pretty good movie.

Are graphic novels the same as comic books?

For the sake of this list I am thinking yes. Wasn't Sin City also a graphic novel?

I'll put it on my list. But its a long list now. I used to go through three new films a week, but am lucky if I can get one new film in a week these days.

Yes. That and 300 also. There are quite a few on the list. I don't really agree with that.
I think including TMNT is just paying hommage to all the movies in this series. It was a pretty big comic book at the time.

With that reasoning, they may as well have put Daredevil or the Fantastic Four on the list.

I have seen all of those movies, and I have to say it's a travesty that Watchmen neither cracked the top ten nor is sitting at the one spot.

Was that a comic or graphic novel?

Trick question! A graphic novel that was release as a series of comics.

Watchmen isn't a bad movie, but it surely doesn't deserve the one spot. I'm not even sure it should be top 10.

I'd say the Doctor Manhattan flashback justifies it alone.

What are you using to judge these movies?
- Action?
- Overall production?
- Entertainment value?
- Scope of the movie?
- Fidelity of adaptation?
- Appeal to movie watcher? (first time they learn about the story is on screen (there has to be a term for this, because you know it's going on!))
By all of those parameters of judging a good comic book film and looking at what's ranked above Watchmen it HAS to move up. I'm not being subjective either.

I'd say that Mask of the Phantasm needs to move up as well. There should be three Batman films in the top 5.

Of the entire list I'd say either Sin City or Superman 2 got the shaft. I thought it was kind of widely accepted that Superman 2 was quite a bit better than the first.
