Some people keep discussing the possibility of an Alabama/LSU rematch, but I am curious to the odds of the other teams' chances. Assuming we beat Alabama (which will be difficult), and the following things happen, who do you think LSU would play if we win out?

-Boise goes undefeated
-Clemson loses one game (either GT or ACCCG)
-Alabama wins out after loss to us
-Okie St. loses to Oklahoma
-K-State loses to either Oklahoma or Okie St.
-Stanford loses to Oregon
-Oregon wins out
-OU wins out

If these things happen (which isn't terribly far-fetched), who do you think we'd play?

It seems like a rematch with Oregon hasn't been discussed, but the possibility is there. I think we would probably play Boise, but OU, Alabama, and Oregon would be right there.

Better chance for a rematch if LSU loses. We have the tougher schedule, and lost to #2 team, then will be #1, on the road.

If the game is close, very close...then I could see a rematch provided everyone else has 1 loss, no way Boise gets in with that sham of a schedule.

So, people tend to think rematch with Alabama more so than Oregon?

Grant it that game was a long time ago, but it wasn't very close.

Would be crazy to have an all sec west national championship. Probably will never happen again to any conference.

I can't see a rematch happening. Wouldn't be fair to the winner on Nov. 5 to have to do it again. Best 2 out of 3 would be fair.

In your scenario, the most likely opponent would be Oklahoma, followed by Boise. I don't think anyone would be up for the LSU v. Oregon rematch given how that one went. I think Bama would have a shot, but I actually think LSU would have the better shot at the rematch if we lost because our loss would be on the road and our OOC is better, especially if Oregon wins the Pac-12. The Penn State win is currently looking good for Bama, but their schedule is really backloaded. I see them losing two or three more before its all over.

Oregon makes the BCSCG only if they win out and LSU is in the Sugar (or Lower)

actually it puts Boise in

if Boise loses, then it's either Oklahoma or Alabama, and could get interesting

I think it would be Alabama over Oklahoma and Oregon due to SoS in the computers.

I really don't know if that's true this year

the SEC is perceived as generally down and there will only be two 1 loss SEC teams.. which would constitute a rematch that the voters may not allow

the computers will definitely prefer the SEC team though.. maybe not Oregon.

Boise will be behind one-loss BCS conference champions - except maybe Wiscy (due to SOS)

The most likely scenario for a rematch involves LSU losing a close game to Bama.

It would require Stanford, Okie State and K-state to lose and probably clemson too though I think a one-loss LSU team is better than clemson (call me crazy, but clemson's schedule very weak...and wehn you compare what both teams did vs common opponent...)

A close loss wouldn't have LSU falling below 4th in the human polls...they'd be behind OSU and Stunford, but still ahead of clemson, boise, OU, kstate (assuming it has lost), wisconsin, etc.

So if u figure were 4th, and OSU and Stunford lose, the won't move the Ducks ahead of us, and hard to say OU jump OU that lost to TTU at home ahead of us.

I think we'd be ahead of clemson is human polls, and it comes down to computers. Them playing va tech twice might hurt.

it should be lsu ala rematch based on the simple fact they are the #1 & 2 teams in the country but it will likely be the big 12 winner vs the sec team

I've been saying we'll play Alabama again this year.
