stick him in the Bama game and let him get blown up by Hightower or someone, that will fix his problem.

sounds like he ain't buying into the TEAM concept and that this season isn't about him getting PT. This year is about LSU winning the crystal. If he can't be happy about what this TEAM is doing right now, all I can say to him is work harder.

Had 3 guys suspended and had 3 guys ready to contribute when their numbers were called. O-line is the hardest position(other than qb IMO) for a true freshman to see PT. Usually not strong enough and there's a lot of chit to remember. On the defensive side...if you're physically ready, the coach just tells you to attack the football.

Not really. If he is talking about playing time then it's pretty self centered of him. I know it's hard to go from being a star to being another face in the crowd but plenty of other freshmen deal with it every year. I just hate to see someone that is more about themselves than the collective good of the team. Don't need those sort of distractions.

La'El needs to get over himself and be patient. If he were good enough to play this year, he would play. Ask OBJ, Rasco, Hilliard, Freak, Jarvis Landry, etc.

stout, isn't criticizing a player w/o understanding the situation a little self-centered?

could have to do with what the coaches told him during his recruitment. ie. that he would DEFINITELY play as a true freshman. all his buddies play sometimes, freak, landry, obj, rasco.

if you win 4 or 5 games by over 25 points, then I can see why he didn't play in all those games.

no one in the thread has any idea what he is talking about. it could be anything. dude was stupid to take it to twitter but let's not assume it's about playing time.

If I'm not mistaken the dude turned 18 3 months ago. I don't know of many kids this age who would take your "tough luck kid" speech without showing you why he might be tough enough to play.

Too much young talent on this team to let someone that doesn't want to be here be a distraction no matter how good they may be.

tweeter is the problem. an 18 year old tweets something as if he is talking to his friends, and the whole state sees it.

He also showed up as 4* DT, and was from all the way in Michigan. Worked out well for him in the long run, and I'm sure it will for La'el too.

I'd also imagine just about every freshmen on LSU's campus has had the exact same thoughts on at least 1 day during their freshmen year. They just don't have anyone following them on twitter.

So what is he going to do? Transfer? And sit out a whole year before he can compete somewhere else for a starting job. Unless he lays down at the next level. He could play and start and dominate. SLU would be glad to have him.

Look at his perspective...Redshirt came off early. Team is having crazy success and hrs on the sideline watching his classmates (Freak, OBJ, Magee, Hilliard, Landry, Rasco, etc) all contributing and having fun out there while he's sitting on bench watching.

Normally it would be a moot point for a true freshman OL, but Collins is physically ready to play...so unless he has off the field issues, can't learn the blocking schemes, or has a horrible attitude...I see no reason not to play the kid late in these games.

Bottom line...I can see why he's upset. He's a great kid and the most physically talented OL we have had in a long time. He's just frustrated and wants to join in the fun!!
