Would like to buy a 9mm to go along with my HK45, and wanted something semi-small (not subcompact small though) and decided on the Glock 19. Small enough to conceal and a nice mag size so it's perfect.

2 questions:

1) Gen3 or Gen4? I've heard about ejection issues from Gen4's and do not want to deal with that, but there are rumors that it's fixed.

2) What did you pay for yours and where did you get it?

Also please tell me what you think of the weapon and any experiences you've had. Thanks a lot guys

I'd go Gen3, tried and tested

However, my glock 19 (gen3) would jam every 20 rnds or so until I hit the 400 rnd mark. She's been flawless since. I almost sent it back to glock to have them look at it. I haven't talked to or read about anyone else having such a problem though. Whatever was causing it is no longer an issue.

I'm assuming that you've fired one a few times, so if you like it I wouldn't steer you away. If you haven't fired one though, make sure to do so. I can't fricking stand Glocks because of their grips - they work for most, but not for me. I think that they're great firearms mechanically, but it pisses me off that I feel like a clubhanded Neanderthal shooting them.

I think I has Glock envy.

The glock 19 is hard to beat IMO. I would wait a few months as they are switching the ejectors out on the newer models to provide better function. I don't own a 19, but it's on the list. I do have a 26, 17 and 34 which I love. The 26 and 34 are both gen4's.

Love my G19. Goes bang every time even when I beat the hell out of it.

I'd go gen 3. Gen 4's are still great guns, but there isn't enough of a difference between the two to make the price increase worth it.

But if you can find a Gen 4 for the price of a Gen 3 go for it.

One of them had spring issues, but they send you a new spring for free. I don't remember if it is the gen 3 or 4. It is a pretty nice gun though. I personally like my Springfield XD better.

Nothing against a Glock 19... but I have a Glock 26 with the extend mag grip and its pretty dang nice. A little smaller than the 19, but more concealable and lighter as well. I love it. Try shooting one before you decide against it if you can. The mag extension was easy to add to my existing mags.
