Here is the LSU substance abuse policy. Everyone has been trying to figure out if the suspension will last only one game or...

HERE IS THE ANSWER

POLICY

If this is the second violation (as inferred from the plurality of the word tests)
quote:

Suspension from up to 15% (rounding method used) of countable contests and/or suspension up to 30 days or combination thereof upon recommendation of treatment team.

I guess the question is:

Is this the first or second failed test?

The way i read that it's basically discretionary. If the person dos treatment, gets tested more and is clean, all is well.

Also here is a key thing from the press release...

violation of team rules

this affirms that it is an in house deal and will be up to miles.

one game should suffice

I'm taking it countable contest includes only games scheduled as of today So that would mean up to 2 games rounding up. They will miss 1 game if I know Lester.

The policy suggests that athletes are subject to both NCAA testing and LSU aministered testing. My guess is that a member institutions's policy must be at least as stringent as the NCAA's policy. Or, perhaps the NCAA follows the member institution's policy.

Based upon my reading of the policy, it can be inferred that this is either a first or second violation. A third violation would have automatically resulted in a "[o]ne-year suspension from competition." In other words, the player(s) involved would be finished for the rest of the season and, possibly, at LSU. In my opinion only, this is a second violation because there is a suspension.
